Awesome 4runner...Especially liking the Icon suspension. What stage did you go with, and do you have the rear PiggyBack shocks? Also like the IVD plating.

Thanks!! I guess you can say i went with stage 2 but the company shipped the remote resi's by mistake so offered it to me for super cheap to save them the hassle.

i'll get the piggybacks once the rears fail. so far i'm really happy with the setup.

Yeah definitely a different driving experience. I do miss driving manual from time to time.

Do you have any suggestion for better headlight output? I would like to see farther with better lighting. Thanks

Greetings and applause

Hi Kevin,
I just got a 2005 Toyota 4Runner, 4.7L V8, 4x4, stock, 52k miles.
I doubt I'll go all out like you, but I would like to customize it a little. I just had some questions regarding your cold air intake & TRD exhaust. Do these upgrades help with fuel econ &/or horsepower? I have heard about "chipping" an engine & was wondering what your take was on that? Just trying to get a little better fuel econ would be my first project.
Let me know what you think.
Very nice rig by the way.
Thanks,
Rena

if you have a 2006+ then i suggest you go with HID kit in your lows. If you have an earlier model you could go as far as a true HID retro fit. You definitely don't want to do HIDs in the reflector style headlights.

There is a bulb called HIR i think. I don't know too much about it other than some members on this board use them as an HID alternative.

Thanks Rena!! i did the intake/exhaust for fuel economy only. didn't really notice a power increase after the installs. after i added additional weight and bigger tires, my mpg went down a bit. Chipping the engine can be done but i'm not sure who is doing it for non-supercharged 4Runners.
