After a 4.5 year delay, finally had a chance to detail my '03
To give some history on my truck, it is a 2003 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition 4.7l V8. I used to wash it at least once a week, and wax it about every three weeks........until 2007 when are twins were born. Sad to say it hadn't been waxed in almost 4.5 years until now.
Now that they are a little more self-sustaining i can do more around the house. I decided it was past time to give the truck a good detailing. When i went to check out my supply of Griot's Garage products and polishing pads, the pads just crumbled in my hands. Some of the products had also separated from sitting over the past 4 years, so i knew it was time to move up. I had been reading a bunch about Adam's Polishes, so i knew what direction i wanted to go. Luckily, a dealer was coming to Birmingham and bringing the house with him. Once loaded up with my new goodies it was "GO" time.
I started of with a good cleaning wash. I followed this up with the Clay Bar treatment. Then it was time to break out my PC and go to work. There was no way around it. I had to start with the Severe Swirl Remover Polish. Next the Swirl & Haze Remover Polish, then Fine Machine Polish. I finished up the Polisher work with Machine Super Sealant. After that was done i buffed the truck off and admired the results. After letting that settle in for a couple of days, i came back with Adam's Premium Shine Kit. Applied and buffed the Brilliant Glaze, then finished off the exterior detail with Americana Premium Carauba Paste Wax. I can't get over how deep the paint looks now. All the products were easy to use and worked perfectly!
I think the paint is in better shape than the day i bought it.
Looks really good. Nice choice of products too. What buffer and pads did you use? Also, I can't say it enough on how I like the unpainted flares/bumpers on your rig. Nice job!
Looks awesome, it's been a bit over a year since I last did my big detailing on my T4R. Plus I need to work on my wife's Acura TL, it's black and needs a good buffing out detailing! Gotta love my PC!

Thanks. Those wheels were port installed upgrades from Southeast Toyota, in Jacksonville, FL. I really like'em and have been looking for a couple of weeks, to find another wheel to use for my spare. Bad thing is they are no longer available through Toyota. I have probably called around 115 salvage yards, searched ebay for nights, coast to coast craigslist........nothing. I just have to be patient, even though i am frustrated as hell....lol. But there are more important things to be upset about. I would almost offer a reward if somebody could find me one.
