Viper keyless entry help :(

installing on my 98
i got a viper 211hv for basic keyless entry. heres a list of the wires... i already connected the crossed out ones.
i tried hooking up number 5 and 8 to my lock and unlock where the old alarm was at so i know that is the right place, but it did not work.
the lights flash and the horn honks but the doors dont do anything.
What lock and unlock wires am i supposed to use from the list?
and where does number 16 go?

ok the Viper 211hv has the door lock relays built in so you have to hook up the other wires too.
by 16 I assume you mean the Ground-When-Armed Output. that would usually go to an optional starter kill relay if you felt inclined to add starter kill to your keyless entry system.

You can't just do a wire for wire hookup to make the door locks work. and I assume you know that the domelight supervision wires are input and output??

anyways back to making your locks work you have to ground the input for the lock outputs. you see Violet and Violet/Black they need to either see (-) or (+) since this is a Toyota you need to ground (-) those 2 wires. Once you do then assuming you have the correct lock and unlock hooked up it should work.

Code Alarm install on 01

I'm going to be installing a Code Alarm system on my 01 4Runner in the next week or so. It has the 2 stage door locks, one key turn unlocks just driver door and a second unlocks the rest. The code alarm has only two wires to control the locks, one lock and one unlock. Will I be able to have 2 stage door unlock with the keyless entry too. Is there any special way to wire it or is it handled by the car somehow? Thanks

Keenan

if your remote has separate lock and unlock buttons one push should do drivers and the second push will do the rest. some systems will allow you to program dbl pulse unlock so one push unlocks all. most of my experience is with compustar and a little with dei. most are pretty similar so i apologize if i am wrong about code products.
