So I'm curising along listening to the radio and decide that I want to listen to the CD's in the player. I switch over and I get "Error 3" blinking on the head unit. What the heck!!!!
Specs on my CD changer:
- Is a 6 disc in dash changer; is not aftermarket; bought with the truck from the dealer lot
- The unit is in a 2004 V8 Limited 4Runner
- I have never tried to take the head unit out of the dash
- The CD changer is/was fully loaded with 6 discs when this error occurred
- The CD changer was working fine the day before because I was listening to a CD
- Most if not all the CD's in the changer are burned CD's
- Looked at the users manual for "error 3" and it says that CD's are misaligned or something of the sort. The solution according to the manual is to eject the CD's and re-insert them. Problem is that I can't eject/play or do anything with the CD's because all I getis the flashing "error 3" on the display.
What do I do? The vehicle is still under warranty. Should I take it back to the dealer? Is this something I can fix myself? Should I simply disconnect the battery to see if the error goes away?
TIA!!!!
