Yellow Fog Lights Bulbs-Any Rec's?

So I bought some all weather bulbs from JC Whitney (55W), and they are pretty nice at lighting up the road in front of my truck. But I really wanted something brighter that would give me the yellow/all weather look. I saw that some of the members here have the POLARG Pure Yellow Bulbs installed. How do they look? Are they bright (can you post some pictures)? The ones that I have dont even light up the road half way to where my Silverstars light (I would expect that they would reach just as far at least)-that is to say they dotn help out that much. Anyone else have any recommendations with pictures as well? I was also thinking of the NOKYA bulbs, but they are 70watt. Would the stock wires handle the power requirements of those?

I am partial to the PIAA Crystal Ion bulbs. Not cheap, but a nice color (similar to the IS300 fogs). Not sure if they will meet your needs.

I have the PIAA Ion Crystals in my Maxima and they look nice. They are pretty pricey though. The Maxima used h-3s so it's a bit cheaper. I have the Polargs in my truck and they are nice, but the yellow is not as sharp as in the Lexus. It may be because of the light design itself. My friend put PIAA Ion Crystals on his 4Runner and he says they don't look much different than mine. I used to use Hella Yellow Stars in my Maxima. The German made ones were terrific. They now make them in Korea and the color and quality are terrible. My last set blew out in less than a month. That's why I switched to the PIAAs.

Yeah...all of the ones above are hard to find in the 9006 size. The Polarg's are going for around $60 I found. The others are very rare.

Does anyone know what bulb the IS300 uses? Is it a 9006? I doubt it, but if it is couldn't we get that part from TOYO?

The Lexus IS300's actually use the same fog light assembly as the 4Runner's; the only difference is that it's located inside of different housing.

I was searching through the Club Lexus forum one day, hoping to find a way to mimic the IS300 look. As it turns out, the IS300's get that yellow effect by having a yellow fog light lens cover over a standard white light bulb. On some of the later model IS300's and 4th Gen 4Runner's, this lens cover is actually clear, and so a white light is given off.

There is walkthrough over in the Club Lexus forum that shows how someone took apart an IS300 fog light and replaced the yellow lens with a clear lens. From reading the walkthrough, it looks like the only way to do this (and this goes for the 4Runner as well) is to pull the housing lens off, remove/replace the fog light lens cover with a yellow one, and then seal the housing lens back into place (all while not getting any condensation inside).

I'm not sure if it's worth the time, money, and gamble. I might just go the PIAA route as well. There are some yellow PIAA bulbs that come directly form Japan that are supposed to be really close. I think they're called PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow.

Anyways, just my 2 cents.

I just installed an 8000K HID system and 2500K Nokya Hyper Yellow 70 W bulbs. The look is the same as my old 2002 IS 300. visit the thread under accessories.

Great! Can you add some pics of the fogs on both from the inside and outside of your truck!
