Trip to OBX August 2009 (Pic Heavy)

Just a few pictures from my recent trip to Corolla in the Outer Banks. Never have really contributed to the gallery section so I figured this would be a good way to start off. Saw some wild horses, a Unimog, did a little bike'n'booze and utilized the Andymod on the beach. Enjoy.

Haha yeah, I added that in by accident, but that was what I took down and lasted about a day and a half between me a friend and 2 girls. Driving on the beach was fine, I aired down to about 18-20 PSI and had no traction problems. I could have aired down more but left it at around 20 because I did do some short trips around Corolla on pavement - and trust me, you do not want to drive fast or far with that low of a PSI. I didn't get much sand in my car, really only from putting beach chairs, coolers and towels with residual sand on them dirtied up the interior, and a little from people's feet. Even spraying roostertails of sand in 2wd with the windows down didn't yield much sand inside the car. A $20 car wash got rid of about 90% of the sand. What I did do after my week of driving on the beach was immediately take a hose to the bottom of my car to get all the salt water/sand mix off the undercarriage. It'll eat up your truck like nobody's business.

And Mike, yeah that hairstyle was completely unintentional. Not washing your hair for a week can do crazy things. The pool at our house was the shower

Haha, actually Gonzaga High School in Washington, DC. Oddly enough, no affiliation with Gonzaga College in Washington State.

And K.C. I didn't need any permit, just 4WD and tires at 20 PSI. It's a state road that runs about 7 miles up the beach to houses only accessible via that road
