Well ,I did a few more mods over the last week with the windows getting tinted today. I went with Huper Optik 30(the darkest by law here in Texas) for the side windows and a 6 inch strip of Lumar limo tint across the the top of the windshield on the inside where the 4th's were factory tinted. Much better now!
Over last weekend I installed my Toytec spacers in the front. They are 1 inch cnc'd aluminum spacers that go on top of the springs. You can see it in the 3rd pic.I painted them flat black before the install to blend in better. They gave me a little over a 1 3/4 inch lift in the front. I now measure 37 inches in the front and. 37 1/4 in the rear. Measured from the center of the fender lip down. The pics are a little decieving as my driveway is on a slant.
I also put on Spidertrax 1 1/4 wheel spacers and removed and painted the side rails on the rocker panels black. I'm still waiting for the T.E. bumper covers that were ordered to come in to the dealer.

are the tires still rubbing a bit when you turn or did that solve your problem?
Does she still ride as smooth as before??? So how much with the mods so far? It looks amazing!!! My dream 4runner to the "T".

It did'nt rub til I put the spidertrax spacers on.So they may come off.The front tires are rubbing only a little when the wheels are cut the whole way. It's that rounded rib on the plastic inner fender well . I trimmed it a little but needs a little more . It has to come out when I change the bumper cover anyways so I'm going to cut that rib off and make it flat with a piece of .020 aluminum painted black on the inside. You would have to see it to know what i'm talking about really.
She does'nt ride as smooth but that's the trade off of BFG AT tires or just about any good AT tire. Actually rode best with the original 20's which were Yokohamas street tires.

The bolts for the roof rack ,right......The original bolts won't work. They sit up too high as they are too long as they were made to go thru the roof rail.I bought some black 8mm x 25mm in length allen bolts at Home Depot and put them in with a little black RTV to seal them . The black ones are corrosion resistant and I think they were like 80 cents a piece. They definitely need sealed as the nutplates are down in the roof.
I'm going to buy the 1 inch wide, long rubber roof seal from the dealer and cut out pieces to fill the 4 voids where the roof rails were. These 5th's sit so high you can't see it unless your the jolly green giant anyways.

I went back to the first picture you posted after your first mod. It's amazing the difference! Your mods are looking awesome! Love the height of the vehicle now. I'd like to lift my SR5 a little, but it's already too tall for my 5 year old to get in on her own. I didn't realize when I bought this vehicle that she always used the running boards on our Explorer to get in. First time she stepped out of the SR5, she didn't realize the boards weren't there and fell straight down. Luckily, she was ok though.
Keep posting the mod pics!

Well my Trail Ed. Bumper covers came in yesterday that are going to go on my Limited. They come in the generic black plastic, same as my Limited bumper covers were and have to be painted silver in some areas to match. Then they just bolt and clip on.These bumper covers are the main things that differentiate the looks of the Trail Edition from the looks of the SR5/Limited.The Limited/SR5's also have rocker panels were the T.E.s have a black plastic bolt on piece along the bottom of the doors instead. Not sure if I'll leave the rocker panels or not. I'll see how it matches up later.
They thought the fender flares came with ,but they didn't so they had to order them along with the mud flaps, another 2-3 weeks for those to come in.
I'm going to have the fender flares painted silver to match so I may as well wait for them to come in so they can be painted with the bumper covers. It's going to be a while but the oldest story in the book-WAITING ON PARTS
I also painted the door handles black over last weekend......not much chrome left now!
Here are some pics.....I also have the Toyota IPC references with the part numbers if somebody is interested.I have no idea of prices as it was part of the deal that I made the sales manager throw in to close the deal when I bought my Limited.Plus the sales manager's a homey from Pittsburgh like me so a couple of little favors don't hurt.

sweet stuff, I like how your getting rid of the bling, a writeup next time you paint something, and as your do all these changes would be awesome, but i know they add to the time things take.
I wish I had enough cash left over from my purchase to play with my new car, soon enough tho
keep modding!
