I'm drooling @ these specs.

-smart key
-sliding rear deck (up to 440 lbs)
-8 air bags
-dual zone (A/C)
-FOLD FLAT 3rd ROW SEAT
-increased HP and torque

Now, if only someone can provide the int/ext pics.

"Return to its roots" is the only spec I'm really interested in until I see some pictures. Isn't the KDSS already in the GX?

More headroom would be nice.
The rearview camera integrated in the rearview mirror just came out on the 2009 Tacoma.
I can't picture getting a 4-cylinder in the 4Runner. It's quite a heavy vehcile.
The dual zone A/C is already standard on the 4th Gen with the Limited trim level.

This document also puts an end to the rumor that either 4Runner or FJ would be discontinued for 2010. They're both listed!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Good thing the student loans will be paid off this year........Might hafta sweet talk the Mrs. again. if I start whining, begging, crying, and pouting now I might be able to get one next year.

If all else fails I can pay someone to total the Subaru on her. LOL.

I hope they keep the rear window set up Toyotas have had forever. The only one with it.

And I agree. WE NEED PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do love the rear window. Especially with the down button on the remote. Just put an up button on it too. Hey CannondaleMan, nice pick on the kayaks by the way. I grew up and currently work in Old Town.

I'll believe it when I see it at dealers.

I'm interested in the Trail Team special edition FJ with a bunch of goodies.

LOL, you're such a skeptic... You said the same thing before the Trail Edition 4Runner came out.

I agree about the window. I know they kept it when they redid the Seqouia a couple years ago, and hope they do so with the 4Runner.

As for the boats.........I have been working so much that I have not been able to use the darned things this year. Kind of ticks me off.

We got them as seconds at L.L. Bean for a couple hundred off and have been happy with them.

And I believe it and was very happy when Toyota finally ponied up a more capable 4Runner but I haven't seen anything saying we will see a 5th gen definetly on these shores before the end of the year but I will be pleasantly surprised if we do.

Actually, how many Trail Editions have we seen and nobody on this board even has one yet so did they actually come out of did Toyota only release 10 or so of 'em.

Ron, it has come out...but is limited in some parts of the country. See: Thinking About Getting a Trail Edition

There is at least one owner (shad0w) of a 2009 TE on this forum. I have seen some on Toyota dealerships nationwide...but none around the Houston area.

I think that the TE is a great addition...certainly raises the bar higher for all 4runners in terms of off-road capability.

I just finished reading a thread about the Trail Edition where a new member said he just got one. So yes, they are out there.

But forget about the Trail Edition.... how many '09 4Runner owners are members of the forum? Of any trim? Not many, from what I've seen so far.
