Discount Tire Price Match Policy?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get some new tires soon and I was looking around for shops and Discount Tire seems to be a good choice.

Their prices seem pretty good as it is, but I've heard that they price match. I'm not sure what all you have to do to get them to match. If anyone could let me know it would be awesome.

Also if anyone knows the lowest price and a link for Duratracs in the 265/75/16 size I would be very grateful.

Thanks.

The one I tried to get a price match on in Atlanta would not match Costco. That was a couple years ago.

It wound up cheaper even after going back to D.Tire and buying their tire insurance. Costco's tires came with the haz insurance but given their relatively few locations I bought the D.Tire's insurance. I was ahead about $60 on the 4 Michelins after all this rather than dealing with D.T.

Discount Tires is the only place I'll buy tires. Can't beat their lifetime rotate and balance, hazard warranties and speed of service. Plus there everywhere around these parts. Very convenient.

Just bought a set of Michelins for the Avalon. Cheaper than Costco.

Do y'all know the cheapest price for those tires or their policy?

I don't know if the price has to include shipping. For example, I think they are $169 from Discount Tire, but if I found them online for $140 would they also make me factor in shipping? Would I need to print out the webpage or what?

They will not price match online tire dealers that do not have an actual store, I tried it wanting them to match tires.com's pricing but they said they couldnt do that.

And another thing that gave me the red ass was i went to have my tires rotated and balanced this weekend at discount tire in Douglasville GA and they took all the wheels off and came up to me and asked if i knew i had spacers on my car, duh i knew cause i put them on, well long story short they would not blance my tires because they said they do not work on cars with lug adapters or spacers, yeah i was pissed

Damn, that's pretty messed up. Did you have the spacers on there when they mounted them?

Would they charge extra if I brought in a new set of rims and wanted them to put those on with the new tires?

It would still be the same amount of work.

They wll not charge more for different rims.

Check their on-line site which is generally cheaper and they will match their own on-line store.

www.discountdirect.com

I've been going to them for over 17 years and never had any issues with them.

Dang, the closests store is about 3hrs drive from me. The store near you Clemsonfan is the one i speak of actually!

My Mich. AT tires have 50k miles on them and i think they have about 10-15k more, so im starting to look now for good tire deals.

Think ill stick with Mich. tires, i know they are good and have never let me down.

With that being said if there is a tire out there you guys may know of that has best road quality id love your input. I go for smooth tire thats quite and long lasting, it does rain ALOT down here by the coast so thats the only weather i have to worry about.

Yes, they have a price match. they even have stickys next to their computers telling them about other store deals. When Costco has that coupon deal, they should match it. Bringing in your coupon would help.

I have used their insurance and it paid off for me. One thing if you get tires from Discount tire and they say do you want the insurance, it is only $16, say "No", they always say, well we will give it to you for $10. If they don't do that in your case, simply say you changed your mind and want insurance, but they simply want to see you the insurance, even if you don't want it.

Now, things are not perfect down at Discount Tire, I feel they always want to sell you something or tell you your tires are bad, more so than other compaines. Also, if you want an alignment, or a bolt broke off your tire, they won't fix it. They ONLY do tires. I shop there becasue it is close by, they price match, they are nice, they repair your flat for free and they balance & rotate your tires for free.

I dont shop Discount Tire, I dont like buying tires, then having to drive to another shop, to get my alinement done. Id rather buy the tires AND get the alinement done at ONE shop.. but thats me, lol
I have heard, that they will price match, but why should I have to drive all over town getting quotes ? just give me the BEST deal now, and you will have a customer for life. They know what the compitition is selling tires for.

Good info Peter.

Would I need to have an alignment after I get new tires?

Thanks for the link Ron, saved me at least $32.

Discount tire fouled up my GF's purchase of 4 new tires recently.

I sent her in with written instructions with the details of the purchase: new tire details, replacing the spare.

The mounted the worst, not best used tire on the spare.

Left the spare loose in the trunk.

I took it in to complain and they put a new tire on the spare to make up for our trouble and said they regret not getting it right on the first visit.

They messed up my tires last time I went to see them. I told them what to do and the workers didn't follow what I wanted. I always ask them if they did what I ask when the worker hands me the keys. Those guys in the back try and crank out the work. And this isn't the first time they have messed up. Of course, I have had problems with other tire stores.

I usually don't align the tires every time I get a new set of tires. Some places don't even ask if I need alignment. I think it would be a good thing to do it more often, I usually do it when I have a problem.
