Thumbs up I am loving the east coast snow.

Its awesome and Wednesday 2/10/2010 is another storm coming. I hope it dumps a 2 feet of snow. So I can go out and play . Plus take off of work. Can I get an amen?

I went out hunting on sa****ay and got stuck in the woods :/ I boiled off the power steering fluid. Its NOT fun trying to steer out of skids without power steering :P

Some pictures as promised. These are from last night, and the storm stopped on Sa****ay afternoon

Coming out of my street

The new LED lights, my camera makes them look blue but the gauges are white. The HU is blue though

Messing with the flash settings. To give an idea of how bad the roads were/are, these pictures were taken on a main road around 7:30 PM. I'd never be able to get away with stopping on Old Dominion Drive at any other time

No idea how this picture turned out this way

Downtown McLean

That car in the background was a Honda Fit, with snow up over the front and rear wheels. I measured 27" in my back yard.

I'm too far South to comment on this latest, big snow storm, but we did get about 6" here near Raleigh NC the weekend before...took the 4Runner out several times, out in the thick of the storm and then again on Sunday after it was "over".

4Runner did great. Never really had to "put it in 4WD" since the AWD system did just fine in the 6" that we got that I never had to mess with the center diff lock or move it into 4Lo at all. I did lock the center diff once, over a long straight stretch of powder-covered road...just to cycle it in and out once on a slippery surface for maintenance reasons...but like I said, the basic 40/60 split of the standard AWD/FT4WD system in my model did just fine without any help. I did meet an idiot in a little Civic that was slipping around and appeared to be clueless on snow driving. I eased over toward the shoulder and ended up sliding down in the shallow ditch about the time this idiot got to me. I let him get past me and then I just eased it right up out of the ditch and back onto the roadway.

The one draw back is that you can't find a snowy parking lot or field, drop it into 2WD and then cut up with it....'cause we ain't got no 2WD setting in our T4R!! lol

I am going to run out and try to get a new set of tires tomorrow morning. I'm still on the Dunlops the truck came with...and while they get it going semi-okay, I can see wear bars, and they invoke ABS wayyy to soon on the snow. It kind of takes away from the fun of snow.

1 inch lower in the rear... waiting for some 10mm trim packers... 906's suck ass...

EDIT - the picture is at an angle though, so the rake is more pronounced if you look closely... in person it's not that dramatic

I'm actually just outside of DC in MD, but I bought this thing in PA, so I'm still using the PA temp. tags. Got it at Fitzgerald's Chambersburg dealer. I actually was happy... The happiness just wasn't showing that well at the time, heh. The snow was, literally, up to my crotch.

Nice, I'm right outside DC in Northern VA. Ready for another 10-20" tomorrow?

I'm love'in this stuff. I put on some Toyo Open County LT's in the fall and I'm amazed at how they're handling. Most impressive has been the highway performance. Unbelievable!

KellyJ, that picture is bada$$. Your runner looks like some kind of hell spawn SUV.

Also, anything more than 1" in Ohio is considered the "White death". Really kills some of the enjoyment

I did not enjoy digging out my 4Runner from under 21" of snow this weekend (Southern MD). I eventually found my baby and plowed her over the top of all this mess and went to Lowe's that day. She is so awesome in the snow!

We're getting 14" of more snow tonight!!!

My daughter made a crazy looking snow lady. LOL
