I think your lift looks great!!! Just wondering why you didn't buy a SR5 if you were thinking of taking the XREAS off? I agree the little dunflops got to go. REVO's in a larger size would be great. I don't think you need to change the wheels. The SE wheels look great. JMHO

This kit works 100% with the Xreas suspension for all 03-06 all model 4Runners.

I'm afraid you have wrong information Jason. When I asked the dealer about it, they told me that it void the warranty and they will never do it, then I talked to the service manager and he told me that they will do installation only for Toyota and TRD parts. Because this is not a Toyota or TRD parts they won't do it.
The only way to do it is to do it yourself or find a body shop who works with suspension.

Honestly, it depends "on the dealer". Some dealers won't install anything on your truck and say it will void this, and that. I once had a dealer tell a customer they couldn't install his new air filter and 18" wheels since they weren't made by Toyota

Thanks for the positive feesback.

It rides just like before the install. There might be a little bit more body roll, but it is tough to tell with out a side by side comparison. I took a circular 270 degree onramp at about 50 mph yesterday with one hand on the wheel. It handled great.

I did not have to remove the xreas to add the lift so it is still intact.

I do want to get new tires eventually - maybe sooner than later. I like the stock rims. I definately want wider tires. I am concerned about getting taller tires and degrading the pickup and power. When I put oversize tires on my Comanche the power drop was noticeable. What can I expect with taller tires on the 4Runner?

The service manager at my Toyota dealer told me there are no warranty conflicts with the lift install as long as I do not damage anything during the installation and as long as the lift does not cause damage to a covered part. Several of the employees there have modified Runners and pickup and take em off road. They were familiar with the lift and told me not to worry about warranty issues.

Enjoy the New Year!

I would go with the 285/70/17's (should help stability with the bigger foot print), the Landcruiser crowd runs 315's with the same engine that is in the 4runner and the LC weighs 900 lbs more then the 4runner. You should be able to use the same wheels with the 285's. Go for it!!!

Just be aware you will not fit 285x70x17's without cutting some of the plastic fender well and you might get issues with rubbing A-arms and even the chassis rail on full lock. The biggest you can go with no rubbing issues is 275's on stock wheels.Search - there's heaps of info on this issue.

No air tools needed. Floor jack, jack stands, hammer, mallet, torque wrenches, basic sockets and wrenches.

I rented the spring compressor from Checker for free. I think Auto Zone does the same.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes. You will be happy you did it.

After reading about the different options with lifts I'm pretty set on the Cornfed lift also.

JasonB is there anything needed for the install besides the lift kit and spring compressor? I know an alignment is necessary but any other tweaking involved.

Total cost with shipping? Thanks
