Here is a video of me pulling my brother up the final step of the ledge:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...63443095388302

Normally, our policy is that we don't post pics or videos of stuck vehicles in our group...however, this is only my brother. He did make it up on 2nd attempt after airing down.

Thanks but the link is not working for me. As a side note... None of the links that were working for me are working now.

Is it still working for everyone else?

I would be better if you had a video of a 4runner pulling you.

Sorry...it did not happen...but i welcome a helping hand whenever i am in need. We also do not take picture or video of stuck vehicles (mine or others).

Well...with the exception of my brother.

Why not post pics of stuck vehicles? I'd post pics of mine if I got stuck to show people what not to do;I have no shame and if you don't get stuck every once in a while then you really aren't off roading.

I don't mind at all...there is a pic of me being stuck in mud somewhere on this forum. However, just to avoid mixed feelings from group members, we don't do it.

Nice vids. I've been thinking about picking up a G500/55. My friends all think they're ugly, but I think they look awesome.

How is the reliability on those G's?

I would not buy 2002 or 2003 Gs because those were the first two years after Mercedes introduced electronics to the G-wagens. Otherwise, the G's are quite reliable. I would buy 2004 and up G-wagens if you want all the safety electronics. If not, then you can buy models before year 2000 which were more basic. There are a few minor annoyances such as window regulator failure (3 of 4 windows of mine have failed).

The powertrain, frame, suspension, and body are over-engineered and built for military service. A quick note to this is that the G500 is smaller dimensionally than the 4th gen 4runner by quite a bit, but it is over 700 lbs heavier.

Yeah, ok man...call me when Defenders come with lockers instead of sissy open diffs and weak axles (see: http://www.mercedestechstore.com/pdf...%202-05-03.pdf)! Until then, you may want to just stay on the sidelines and let the G do the real work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&h...&v=SWvDKH1Y7QU

BTW, isn't Land Rover now are owned by a company that specializes in building the world's cheapest car?? Well, to be honest, LR quality went up when Tata took over...so, you should be very thankful! India owning a large chunk of British heritage? Payback is a biatch, isn't it?!
