New 3rd Gen.... :)

New to the board - long time member of TTORA/Pirate/Ect.....I can't find a 3rd Gen runner offroad forum though? Is this the closest?
anyway - I'm out of Portland, OR area - I just flew down to California to pick-up TLT's runner....paid 8K for a 96 w/ 200K on it...LOL.....It's worth it though....at least in my eyes. Thing runs like new. No kidding! Drove back from San Jose to Portland 75mph the whole way.....10 hrs straight.
Oh - this is the wife's rig. We got rid of her 03' runner to cut out a payment.
I dig the 3" lift and 35's.....they did a super clean job on the body.

LOL!! I HATE buying something already done.....but since it's the wife's - she wouldn't have paid for ANY thing additional to add to the thing. Especially gears/ARB/bumpers ect. I added up the cost of a 99 runner I was going to buy locally ($9K and not even close to as clean) - it would have cost me $15K total to get it even close to this.
So that kinda made sense.
+ Sean from TLT was a super-nice, honest guy that told it how it was. It was SUPER clean......right before I took it hunting last weekend...LOL.....

She is really clean, I would have never let her go! But then again situations arise, and one must make decisions. Is there anything that you would be adding to the 4runner?

LOL....well, I'm going to try and talk the wife into a ARB for the front!
I'm going to be attempting to rebuild the solenoids on a crappy Smittybuilt winch to throw on the front.
I'm going to do a number with some black paint too. I'll post pics.
Oh, and also try to plumb the sliders to hold air for the compressor.
Hopefully our crappy economy picks up in the next year or so - which would mean the wife gets a new rig. Which means this becomes my wheelin' machine. Which means it may get cut up! But that's a ways out.

Yotatech has more of a concentration of 3rd gens over there so you might try there but both forums have an abundance of info and I think they compliment each other well and alot of mebers here are members there too,me included.

Oh yeah, your 3rd gen is one of the nicest I've seen and I love the true red.

Yeah I was tracking this when it was for sale on the other board. ? You are going toget rid of the Hanson Front bumper for an ARB? Let me know if you wantto get rid of that bumper I might be able to make it work on mine. Very nice and you got a screaming deal on it with all the mods. I do agree though it is nicer to be able to say "I did that"

You practically stole that thing! I'm really liking the looks of the front bumper, it is much sleeker then the usual ARB or Shrockworks bumper.

Yea - It's actually a Taco bumper that was modified to fit the runner.
And NO - I won't be swapping it out for an ARB bumper - I was talking about a ARB front locker. I love the bumper. It even has a bottom skid/support tube to protect the radiator
And yea - that's why I flew down to CA. 8K for all those parts! holy hell! They even came with a 4-runner! LOL...
It was definitely worth the drive back, and the plane ticket.

Thanks! I always liked the red too. not very many of them is there? Actually - come to think of it - I've never seen a "red-red" one in my area that wasn't a 2nd gen. My wife was kinda on the fence because it stands out like a sore thumb - but that's okay I guess.
I always wanted a Red Tacoma. Next to the 2nd Gen dark dark gray, and the dark dark green.
