O2 Sensor & MAF (or MAP) Sensor???

My 97 4Runner apparently needs an O2 Sensor & either a MAF or MAP sensor. My mechanic had said MAP sensor but it seems that I don't have one of those BUT, I do have a MAF sensor so it seems. What I want to know is: which O2 sensor (mechanic said it's down by the cat) and do I have a MAP sensor or MAF sensor?? Stupid electronic sensor making my car run like ****!!!

Not really giving a lot to go on. Any codes? Is your cel on? You have 4 o2 sensors and a maf sensor, no map sensor.

MY GARAGE
Thanks. I did figure out that I do in fact, have a MAF sensor. My mechanic (personal friend who's ASE cert.) did the diagnostic but he doesn't have a code reader so I don't know about that. He used his OHM reader to do most of the checking. He had said it's the O2 sensor down by the cat so I'm assuming it's the after cat one. I'm getting really mixed quotes for O2 sensors ($45-120) FOR THE SAME SENSOR. I just want to make sure I get the right one & don't get ripped off by a parts supplier. Does this info help at all??

Only a little. Stop by autozone and get the code read for free. This will pinpoint the component to replace. I don't really trust your mechanics opinion if he's just trying to poke around with an ohmmeter and thinks you have a map sensor.

Thanks for the input. I live in a tiny mountain town without an Autozone but we do have a Napa. I will see if they have a code reader.
