Glassworks Fiberglass Fenders Preorder

I know that some of you, myself included, have wondered if anyone was going to start making fiberglass fenders for the 4Runner. I reached out to Glassworks (Glassworks Unlimited), and they've stated that if they get 5 preorders that they will develop front fenders for the 4Runner.

These fenders should allow folks to run larger tires, with wider offsets, or long travel without having to work within the confines of the factory fenders. Check out their tacoma and 4th gen 4runner models for reference. I know I'm interested, is anyone else?

I haven't confirmed, but I assume the way this would work is putting down a deposit (or pay in advance) and then wait through a development and prototype period of a couple months. Total cost is probably $400-500/pair in white gelcoat (you get your bodyshop to fit and paint match).

Anyone interested? I guess lets get a tab going here and if there's enough initial interest I'll get the ball rolling with glassworks.

Yes. If they make one like the taco setup I'd be down for a set and then id hump for the TC axles and LT uppers and lowers.
 
Last I talked to them they said all they needed was a truck to work on for a few months and they'd be cranking them out.

I wish I could say I'm down. Once released I'm definitely getting a set since my dumb ass now has 35s to go on, but also because of them I can't front any money. I guess I'm a mute partner (even less than silent)
 
At this point it sounds like 3 people interested enough to do a preorder. Not bad for less than 24 hours - let's keep it going.

The purpose of the thread is to gauge interest from folks who want fiberglass fenders. I don't work for glassworks and have no skin in the game other than wanting fiberglass fender for my own truck.
 
Put down as a maybe for this preorder. I'm elbows deep in wheels and tires right now.

For me to confirm, would have be dependent on how fast this comes together what how much money I have to spend.

If it takes a couple of months, then definitely. Next week, probably not.

I'd love to do this eventually but can't right now. But others should definitely preorder and this should definitely be restarted in the 5th gen area as a poll so that it is more obvious that it is not an ad....

Ben, what are you thinking about doing with your snorkel? Just not running it with these fenders?
 
Any updates on this? Just curious and would almost be willing to bring my truck down there to them if I got a good deal on a set for down the road when the LT starts getting pieced together.
