Ladies and gents! The Florida Association of Toyota Trucks is having a meetup ( Southern hospitality run) at Hard Rock on the 27th of this month. There should be a bunch of rigs from Florida and some from our neighboring state Georgia! The idea of the meetup is to show the GA boys a good time in Florida!

son's birthday and reserve weekend for me.

Put me down as a "likely"... I'll know for sure by next weekend though.

Definitely going to try and go, it'll be my first ride with a group outside of a few trips with a friend in his rig. Looking forward to going. When and where to meet prior to arriving at Hard Rock ? Ill be rolling with the Family and a typical load out for off-roading, i.e. standard recovery items and tool kit, maxtrax, my truck is only lacking a winch that will not be ready in time for the ride, but i have straps and kinetic rope as well as shackles and tree savers. I have a basic tool set but i have the assortment at my disposal and wouldn't mind bringing extra items if anyone needed just ask. Ill be packing up drinks for the family so ill already have a 50qt cooler i could throw an extra or two in if anyone wants to provide other drinks and ice when we meet up. Id just like to help out and have a great time, let me know if anyone wants me to bring any of the above items if I'm loading up the truck for it adding it into the kit isn't a problem.

I'd love to go, but it's kinda pointless with a 2WD with street tires lol.

Awesome man! I think bring your basic kit of tools and straps that you have mentioned and we should be good. There are going to be a bunch of other rigs there with stuff too. I know I will throw a bunch of extra tools from my box into my tool bag, a cooler with lunch and drinks as well as a towel and a spare pare of shoes.

Place to meet prior to arrival at hard rock ? Or do you guys just meet up there at the entrance , never been there so just trying to have it in my head. We leave Georgia Saturday and heading back home and the truck is pretty much ready to roll just load my bins and cooler and go. Just going to give it a quick once over mechanically. I had originally prepped it for our trip to Georgia but we used the Honda Odyssey so it's in the yard full of fuel ready for a trail.

If we wanted we could meet up at the pilot on the south side of 326 (Map) to fuel up and grab snacks again. It is less than 3 miles from the park.

So: I'm still not quite to the "HELL YEAH I AM 100% IN" point, but it's up to about 80%... Just trying to figure out trip funding vs mods that're on the way (it is about a 5 hour drive from where I'm at, and I have a new rear bumper that's supposed to be finished early July). So: I'll be camping somewhere nearby if I can make it work...

All that said: what's the plan? Are people getting there earlier or later on sat? I've looked everywhere for the FL Assoc. of Toyota Trucks and can't find anything but dead links... Let me know, and I'll do my best to get down there! I've been wanting to check out the wheeling there for a while now!

Id love to go as well but I don't know how well my 2WD could keep up with everyone else. I haven't had my Runner for too long and haven't actually brought it to a meet up or anything off-roading besides some wet fields to tear to mud so Im not familiar at how it all works. If anyone could fill me in so maybe I can be prepared for next time that would be great!

I would say 9am is feasible to meet up at the Pilot. I am in Plant City ( tampa bay area) so it is about an hour and a half drive for me. So far it looks like i am flying solo up there tho.

I will be bringing a couple walkie talkies as well. Because, well, I don't have a CB yet. I know we used them and a couple others last time when we had a large group.

I'm trying to convince my buddy with a heep to join in, but after the low jeep water intake hydrolocked his (old) engine, he's been doing a lot of mallcrawling rather than really beating on it...

As for the FB group, I've sent a request to join, but apparently it's a closed group. So: I couldn't see any real information. (But, now I'll know for next time!)

I'll be bringing the tools/recovery stuff I've got (pretty full tool kit, hi-lift with adapters for tires, sliders, etc., snatch rope, bridle, hitch shackle mount, and a couple extra shackles). I assume/hope somebody there will have a winch just in case...

I too have walkies in the truck 3 of them for the same reason. I also have a single portable vhf/uhf I bring just in case some have that as well. I excited as I haven't had it out in a while. Last thing I really want to get done on it though is a good secure front recovery point. 0900 at the pilot off of 326 in Ocala give or take a little bit for others to roll in. Gotta get myself and the family up and going and I work nights, so I can definitely relate to anyone who hates mornings. I know I do, but wheeling trips are worth it.
