Towing my new boat trailer

One reason I got my v8 4runner is to haul my boat arround.
I am very happy with its towing abilities. Now that I have a new tandem axle trailer, I am totally pleased with the rig.
Ample power , smooth motor and wonderful tracking. The weight of the t4r really plants you and makes for a stable and worry free ride.
I got 16.7 mpg at 65mph and I guess that 17 would be possible at 55.Here's the 1st pic of my t4r that I have posted here. Not a great shot of my new trailer, but you get the picture;):

Hey quick question for you, do you think a V6 could tow that size boat? How many pounds would you say that boat was? thanks

6 cylinder vehicles have towed this boat. A jeep cherokee, a mazda mpv. Even a jeep wrangler! I think it puts a strain on these drive trains especially the tranny.
2315 lbs. Is the dry weight with a cuddy cabin.
The t4r should do better as a tow vehicle as its heavy and has a strong drive train. You just won't get the acceleration that a v8 produces and i have found that gas mileage is poorer in a smaller motor that has to work harder.
 
V6 can tow that easily

I tow a combined trailer and boat weight of 4600lbs. Gas mileage will drop from your normal 22-24 mpg down to about 16 with this size boat and a car load of people. With a lighter boat like this, I would anticipate around 17-18 with the V6.

:iagree: I'd be much more comfortable towing that load with the V8.
