I Have Been Cornfed!!! New Lift And Tires...

Well after about probably way more hours than it should of taken and tons of Blood, Sweat, and Tears the lift is installed and i freaking love it! I just about finished it last night at one am with the exception of a partially stripped left tie rod and catle nut so that held it off to be complete, so today i went to The Home Depot-no luck there! then Osh -no luck there! then Ace hardware-no luck there either! then to Three kragen autos-also no luck then napa auto parts and also no luck there, all i wanted was a 14mm catle nut and a 14mm tap, but no one carried it at all, so i ordered the nut from toyota at $4.75 a piece!!! and i went back to osh for a try at another method and the guy recomended using a delta file to file the tierod end groves and i found a regular 14mm nut. so i went home and it worked!!!!! so i put on the tires and went down to get my new 285/70/17's put on at america's tire co and let me tell you the truck looks freaking sweet!!!! i love eveything about it, and suprisingly no real lose of acceleration but slight rubbling on the left mud flap, i may need to shave it. so anywho i have pictures but im gonna wait to post them until i get it detailed tomorrow and post some really clean pictures!!! so be patient,

WHen you get a chance still put in the Toyota castle nut on the tie-rod, I would err on the side of caution with tie-rods. You dont ever want to loose your steering :D

I'm interested to see how the 285 (33") will work out on the stock wheels in terms of rubbing. Keep us updated.

Time to go to Hollister now and test it out. Also get your wheel alignment done by a competent shop, you dont want to wear out those new shoes too quickly.
 
The Castle nut will be in tomorrow morning at Antioch Toyota so im gonna swing by and pick it up and put it on after work when i detail the truck.

as for the rubbing, i only notice it when i crank the wheel (like going into parking spots) and the only place it rubs in the mud flaps because of the hump on them.

I will be getting a alignment done next week, he i was wondering- when i seperated the tie-rods i think i slightly damaged the rubber boots, should i replace these? and if so how soon?
 
Your 4Runner looks TUFF! Those tires are HUGE... Great job. Definitely let us know how your set-up works over time both on and off road.
 
If you damaged the boots on the tie-rods I would recommend you replace them before you get the wheel alignment done, so the sooner the better. Normally it should be ok for a while, unless you go in wet or dusty conditions.

Does the tires rub against the swaybar, frame or upper a-arm at full lock?? Also check out rubbing when the wheel compresses and you are making a tight turn. You might be one of the first guys running 33" (285) on stock wheels if you can make it work for you.
 
Good look. Very interested to see what happens to those tires when at full compression, in relation to rubbing.

What are your measurements from the ground to the lip of the fender well in both the front and back now?
 
showing cornfed pride, i took of the corncob part of the sticker for two reasons, 1 i didnt like it and 2 i live in brentwood, california largest supplier of corn and corn is a hometown thing her with the cornfest everyyear and let me tell you our corn is dang good!!! so i thought it would be cheesy to leave it for that reason
