ROGER BROWN body lift pics..

here are some pics..








I got
1.5in roger brom lift.
standard hardware.
1.5in radiator drop(realy easy)
$129 shipped.

instructions for 3rdgen work perfect except following.
I found that the install was very simple. Only things that slowed me down.

1. the rear bumper has to be trimed about an inch or so. the rear frame is abour a half in. above the lower lip of the rear bumper. Even with the rear cut its not noticelble. You do however notice that the fram and hitch dont match anymore. I will take care of that later.)


2. I used a stock bottle jack. I had to use 4 large bricks and a 2x4. I starded with 1, then3 and finaly 4.)

3. even with standard hardware I had to enlarge the front body mounts on the frame and the metal washers for the rubber bushings. I only did 1step larger on my step drill. But I had to use a 6in drill bit extension.

4. I also bought some washers for the 4 body mount bolts on teh inside. the oem bolt has an integrated washer about 1 1/2 in. So, i spent an additional $2.no prob.

5. the front bumper on the bottom sags a bit. due to the raising of the front reinforcement 1bolt hole up. I am currently cutting some adapters for this problem. I didn't notice that on the website's page till later.

the install shoudl of only took 4hrs. far less with these tips

OVERALL
I recomend the 1.25 in lift to take care of problem 5.
I think it is worth it. I get far less tire rub. I like the look and it gives me some more time to save for a real suspension lift. I am not a pro or nor a hard core wheeler. So, this is just my opnion so far. I still believe you get what you pay for.

Especially some side shots in sunlight so we can see the amount of frame that is exposed. Soem detail shots of the radiator/front area and rear bumper would be great too.

I think I might go this way too for a while until I decide on what to do more permantly.

Did you have to extend any other lines?

I wonder what it would look like with sliders? It might solve a problem I have with the rear door flares hitting my sliders but I wonder if it would look strange with the sliders not as close to the doors and lower sill panels.

Can you also provide measuremenst for height from gound to the fender lip?

Lance (Good Times) and I have also both done the RB body lift. Nothing else has to be extended. In fact, I didn't even have to use the radiator brackets, we just cut part of the fan shroud and voila, perfect!

4Route - you have the square sliders, I have the round. How do you feel the sliders match up with the body since the lift, or did you have yours custom made to your truck?

I'm concerned what it might look like with a body lift as the sliders would be a 1.5" lower on the body which I would think would look a little strange?

Hey Mark!

I installed the body lift almost a year ago to-date. I only got sliders (from Roger Brown) this summer, and was one of the first 4th gen. people to buy from him so he told me what measurements he needed and I reported back with numbers from which he made the sliders.

I love the way they match up with the body since the lift - but again, I had the lift long before the sliders.

Still, with only 1.25-1.5" body lift, it's not going to be THAT big of a difference ...

I'm eager to see some pics of your lift as I'd love to do the 1.25 RB with my RevTek 3". Any opinions or suggestions are appreciated as I'm new to this forum. I have an '05 SR5 4X. Thanks

I did the 1.25" RB / 4Crawler body lift yesterday- It took the entire day including planning and such but I took my time and was careful. It's pretty involved just to get at the interior of the body mounts from inside- pulling trim pieces and such. I used a long bit for the front mounts and drilled from the bottom- just a washer that is too small for the 1/2" bolts. - kept the truck on the ground to do the drilling since it kept the collar/washer from spinning. It went fast when I recruited a friend to help. Looks great.

I will soon. Had some difficulty w/ the bumper - hard to get back on- I really had to stretch it to get it over the steel bumper bottom and was afraid it was going to crack- there was a gap at the flares and I broke the plastic mounts that the fender hangs on. I lowered the bumper tonight by moving it down a bolt and shaving the inside where it hit the inside 4th bolts. I went to a local dealer and replaced the plastic bumper brackets- ($45 apiece! ) It should slide back on without any problems now. I'm going back to test fit the Nitto T/G 285/65/18 on the Procomps 2morow.

Are you happy with the 1.5" body lift? I have the 2.5 Suspension lift.. I just ordered the 1.5" body lift.... The only thing I am worried about looking weird is the towing package... Is there a way to move that up once the lift it on?

if your talking about the hitch, then nope.
Its a small gap that is more useful than visually annoying.

i have a 3in toytec suspenion but i was thinking about putting 1.5 brown body lift but im not sure if i would need steering extentions. take a look at my garage and let me know what you think.

You should visit the 4Crawler website--they go into great detail about what's likely to be needed for most of the applications (such as the steering extension). I have a 3" lift from them, and was very impressed with the amount of detail they give, the quality of the components, and the fit of the kit.
