Looks like Toyota is trying to emulate the American box design and style. What happened to the FTX? The FTX was cool, ORIGINAL, and would have caused a big splash.

I wouldn't buy this new Tundra based on appearance.

Looks that way to me also......which woulkd be strange, as all Toyota 4by's have been 6 lug since the beginning of time.

I also hope the final product looks more like the FTX than this photo suggests....I guess we'll see.

Honestly, that photo looks like a new version of many other's manufacturer's trucks before I would guess a Tundra.....which is too bad.


Edit: Koz is right.....must be a 2wd which would explain the axles.
 
I guess come February 9th we will see what the production versions of the 2007 Tundra look like when it premieres at the Chicago Auto Show.
 
The bodywork is all covered, which makes the vehicle look plain. Also the pic is very poor quality, the real truck better look BETTER!

Are you sure that is the new Tundra? It kind of looks like the new FTX Toyota concept truck. If it is the Tundra, what a disappointment! Here is a picture of the FTX so you can compare the two:

yup the grill and head lights are the same.

Hopefully the photo doesn't do it justice..?? If the power plant is as good as the rumors suggest. It will be one hell of a ride.

As for the quote above.... My 4Runner is 2WD with 6 lug axles. Is that something that has always been the same with 4Runners (2 or 4wd) or is it a 4th Gen thing???

I think every 4Runner has had a 6 lug axle since it was released.
 
I hope the picture there doesn't do it justice. The other spyshots were very interesting but this one looks just bland.
