Just bought this 1997 SR5/auto last week for $4500 from a private party (friends son), of course it has 184xxx miles, but no leaks, clean, runs great, good maintenance records, hope it will make a great third vehicle.

fix list
repair drivers leather seat bottom
(or purchase seat cover)
replace timing belt and water pump
(no problems or leaks just to be proactive)
fix broken radio antenna motor
(have it coming via a forum member)

Looks new/clean.

However it is kind of high on milaege. Don't know how much that thing has left. But for $4500, I wouldn't say it's too bad.

you kidding? with proper maintenance 184K is like 30K on a non-yota! :)
 
Looks great! I have a 97 as well...but with only 80k. I had the same damn antenna problem too, but fixed that as well. More annoying then anything.

my 01 has 86K...
 
The antenna is a common failure and I have over 111k and mine surprisingly still works and yes,you got a deal since there's plenty older 3rd gens going for a couple grand more with closer to 200k on the odo.
 
broncosi - Yes it does, wood trim with Leather interior. I thought that was odd for a SR5 but don't know much about all the options one gets when ordering a new 4runner.

Dang!! thats some old school wood grain right there, is it wood or vinyl? Yea ive never heard of one like that with the SR5 with the wood and leather
