Borla Exhaust for 05/06 Sport Edition V8s

To anyone interested in the Borla dual catback exhaust system for the 2005/2006 Sport Edition 4Runners with V8s:

I recently purchased the newly released catback exhaust set (Borla PN 140146) from Courtesy Toyota in Florida. The system is available through Borla for $1019 or through Southeast Toyota dealerships as a Toyota option (DE1) for $779. The set from Toyota also includes a TRD air filter as an added bonus.

When I bought my exhaust set, I worked out a deal with Tad Bowling in the Courtesy Toyota parts department. He agreed to sell the set to me for wholesale ($679). Not a bad deal, considering our other dual exhaust options are limited. After receiving my set, which I am very happy with, I re-contacted Mr. Bowling to see if he would extend the wholesale price I paid to all members of this forum. He told me he would be happy to have our business and would agree to that price. So to anyone interested, you can contact him directly and just mention that you're from T4R.org:

I take it this is the version that fits the 2005 with XREAS? Have you installed your exhaust yet? I've got a Magnaflow on the way, but I'm sure other members would be interested in this deal. Thanks for putting it out there.
 
Yes, this is the system that fits 05/06 Sport Editions with XREAS. I will be posting pics of my install soon (along with the install of my HID kit from Xenon Depot). My computer went down after Christmas, so I'll be uploading my pics soon and will post when I have more free time to write it all up. If you want an idea of what the kit looks like or impressions of the performance/sound, check out X6RUNNER's first few posts. He got his set from the same dealer.
 
Does this fit an 05 sport V6? Borla website only lists it for v8. why does the engine size affect the catback exhaust? Borla website states they have no exhaust for an 05 v6 only v8's

Will this let me keep the spare tire where it is? Also, I have an 05 V8 LTD with XREAS. Please let me know. Thanks!

The position of the CATs seems to be different with the V8/V6. Magnaflow supplies you two different pipes, one used for the V8 and the other for the V6.

Yes, this is the Borla kit designed for 05/06 with XREAS, and the spare tire fits fine. I installed it on my 06 Sport Edition and the exhaust looks great and the spare is on there with no clearance problems.

Note: while installing the kit, I decided it was so straightforward that a complete writeup was not necessary. For anyone considering this mod, just know that simple hand tools and some free time is all that's necessary. I even did the install without using a jack to lift the 4Runner. All I used was a creeper and all was well.
