Never really browsed down this far on the main page, until today.

I bought my 2006 4Runner from Cory Ellerbee over at San Francisco Toyota (the Geary location, his office is at the Used car lot on 3rd Ave and Geary Blvd) this February. It had to be ordered from Toyota and Cory has been working with me since November '05. There's no pressure or haggling buying from Cory. He'll present the price of what the vehicle will cost along with options and accessories. His price beats all other dealers and he will not ask you to come into the dealership to talk about pricing like other dealers did.

We got a '05 Tacoma from Cory as well. I will be getting all my future Toyotas from SF Toyota through Cory.

Funny... when I was shopping for a 2004 SE I went by SF Toyota to see what they had and the used car salesmen were the most useless a-holes I'd ever found. One guy barely responded to my questions with one-word answers while smoking a cigarette.

Ended up at Marin Toyota in San Rafael. Tim was great. Colin a bit more along the classic salesman line. My only complaint is that their interior detailers suck. Even after a second detailing, I found dried coffee in the cup holders and dirt in many other places. I did a far better job!
 
My cousin bought his Camry from Marin, they were able to beat Cory's price (SF Toyota) by about $200. My cousin shopped hard for his car, no one else came close and many wouldn't even match Cory's price. I like Marin because they don't drill the front bumpers for the dealer tag, but somehow their cars aren't perfect--they're a bit dirty inside and I think my cousin's had some light scuffs on the outside that needed to be buffed. Only reason I didn't get my Camry from SF Toyota was because they didn't have what I wanted--couldn't wait because Gov. Davis was going to triple registration fees.

I doubt the rep you dealt with was Cory, he was at the Van Ness location at that time (2004). But I agree with you, there are handful of reps of there that are rude. I was waiting for them to do the DVD upgrade on my Camry and a bunch of them were talking smack and cussing in the showroom when there were other patrons.

Edit: Just remember something.

Funny too... when I was shopping for my 4Runner, I emailed Marin twice. They were a bunch of jack@$$ and never got back to me. So, IMO f'em. Not worth $10 (drive over in one car and drive both back) in toll to get my truck from them. Same goes for Hayward Toyota, kept asking me to go in and talk when he couldn't get me ANY information on the 4Runner.

I got off to a rock start with Marin too. First sales guy was clueless and had me come out there to test drive a car then couldn't find it on the lot and said it must have been sold. Turns out it was being used as a loaner for a customer and was back within 48 hours.

useless a-holes. I got a good laugh out of that one today. Just like everywhere, there are some good people in bad places and some bad people in good places. I can assure you that I wasnt the one that you talked to. I didnt even work there back then. And fyi, the guy that was smoking a cigarette died of lung cancer
