Clunk noise from rear break after depressing brakes!

Sometimes when I stop at a light or stop sign for more than a minute, I hear a slight "clunk" noise coming from the back of the truck when I drepress the brake pedal and accelerate. Is this normal? I don't hear it all the time. This is my first SUV so maybe is normal behavior. Anyone have noticed this?

Yes,is is the same kind of noise I have. What's odd is that I don't hear it all the time. The threads that you pointed me to suggest that something needs to be lubed. Now I need to find out what needs to be greased and if I can do it myself, the dealers in my area close before I can get there. Thanks very much for your assistance. Mike

The part this thread refers to for lubrication is the rear drive shaft slip joint. It is a simple process, just need a grease gun. But, the dealer should take care fo it for you, if you have the time to get it there.
 
The weather here in NY has been brutal these few days and will continue, I am going to take your advice and take to the dealer. My truck is under waranty, I hope they don't consider this job as maintenance and charge me for it. What do you think I should tell them?
 
I would simply tell them what the symptoms are, and how to re-create them and let them handle it. You can check, but I'm pretty sure there is a TSB on this issue. I think there is a 'sticky' thread listing all the TSBs at the beginning of one of the forums. You could mention that you happened by the TSB info on the web somewhere, and ask them if it covers your problem. I don't recall you mentioning how new the vehicle is or how much mileage is on it. If your under a year/12K, I would tell them, if they try to charge you for the lubrication that I thought new vehicles came fully lubricated from the factory???
