My 3rd Gen TRD/LC Lift

Just got it finished off today. Parts list:

Front:
TRD Tacoma Double Cab Tokicos
TRD Tundra Springs
Bamachem 3/8" Top Plate Spacer
Revtek Extended Studs
1" Diff Drop

Rear:
93 FJ80 Front Coils
93 FJ80 Rear Monroe Gasmatic Shocks

It will probably end up getting another Bamachem spacer to even things out more since I used a pretty tall FJ Coil in the rear. about 3-3.5" above stock and my cargo area is currently loaded down pretty good.

Some better pictures should be up this weekend after we head out to Callalantee ORV and test it all out and see what needs to be done.

Next up is Sliders and a LockRight and possibly a 1" 4Crawler BL

you put the top out spacers in the front? doesnt look like enough lift to me. measure and see if you get around 38 inchs for the front or 37.5 ground to fender well

I will...I know I didnt get the lift I expected. Not sure why because I had all the right parts. Kinda dumbfounded right now, but oh well...I have more bamachem spacers and am going to put them on soon. If that doesnt solve the problem then Im not sure what im going to do...a lil trial and error for now. Its all in the fun of workin on and modding a vehicle.
 
they will settle about an inch most likely in the rear, so hold out on the spacers up front.

Im in the process of buying some LC coils and two more pairs of topouts for my front.

talk about LC lift and 2 inch bodylift combined with 33.5 tires. it'll be tall

I have 3 pair total just because of those deals you find that you cant pass up haha. Dont know how many I will put in though. Still have to do my diff drop.
 
Yes it is an air hose. Modified into a diff breather. Im not baller enough to have an air locker. IMO it looks better and functions better than the typical fuel line style diff breather extention. The elasticity due to the coils expanding and contracting will allow me to tuck the line as close to the body as possible to prevent catching/hooking it on things on the trail while still having the ability for it to stretch and flex. Check out Codyjh and cumminsdzl on NCTTORA, saw your name on the member list...the three of us are currently all running this style breather hose.
 
Got everything off of yotatech or IH8mud. Took my time and got some major deals on stuff. Shop around and wait for stuff to come up in the forums. Sonoran Steel sells the entire kit for around 1200 complete.

Springs/Front Struts/Diff Drop - 180
Top Plate Spacers & Studs - 95
Rear Struts - 50
Panhard Bar drop - Home Made (in progress) - 30
Bump Stop Extentions - Home Made (in progress) - 30

Total - 385

Tires - 285/75/16 Goodyear MTR - 190
Trail Gear Rock Rails - 154
Alignment - 50
Various Install/Saftety $$$ - 150

Grand Total - 829

Shop around and you can do it for a helluva lot less than Steve's kit from SS. But if you purchase his you can get everything brand new. All my stuff has mileage on it but not much.
 
diid you extend the breather to the gas tank opening? if i remember correctly that's where they routed it to in the writeup on 4runners.org this is my last day before i go back down to school so i'd like to get this out of the way while i have access to the tools. writeup/link would be appreciated
 
I actually ran the line through a grommet that my trailer hitch wiring harness runs through and then it comes up into the cargo area near the left side tie down hook. I wanted it to be in a 100% clean and dry place so NOTHING could get in there and clog it up. I just added my personal twist to the same mod.
 
Up 1" more after today. Trail Gear Sliders and hopefully Goodyear MTR's will go on tomorrow. The checklist is getting shorter.

Lift - Check
Tires - Check
Sliders - Check
LockRight - February
BudBuilt Skids - March

Then the trail rig begins...
 
front tires new? i see the chalk line they have on them

i just took my goodyears off and put on some 33 inch firestone mts on. my mtrs started to chunk and the front were wearing off to the side since i effed up my alignment, good tires though just really soft.
 
fronts are pretty much brand new...i got em "used"
the rears have about 1/3 left...i have less than the price of one new tire in all 4 that are on the truck.

Its going in for ball joints and tie rod ends on tuesday so the alignment is proper.
