Suggestion: City/Street set-up

Not sure if this has even been suggested or not....but how about a subforum dedicated to City / Street set-up T4R's

I know most of the people on these boards are off-road fanatics, however, I highly doubt my wife's T4R will ever hit a muddy path - but I love it just the same. Even though it does have a 2" lift - with the heavy duty suspension dampers, brush guard and what not.

Thanks 8ac1v1c, that's a great idea. I've decided to change the name of the forum to Street&TerrainT4R.ORG to emphasize that this forum is also geared to the everyday common use of the 4Runner - after all I think probably only about 5% of 4Runners ever leave the pavement. There are plenty of other forums where folks can talk about lift kits and sliders. Stay tuned for the details on the transition, it should be sometime in the next week.

Cool. Mine hardly been off anything more than a gravel road a handfull of times. I don't have a problem with offroading, but just had my share of a while back. I tended to break a lot of stuff.......

It is unfortunate that we have people who want to turn this forum into something that is not. I created this forum for both sides, not just one.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to stir the pot or anything. I was just putting in my $.02 as far as my truck is concerned.

No need to apologize Momo - Thai's just a little upset cuz I didn't really consult with him on this decision. But frankly I don't care, to me the decision makes a lot of sense, it will help broaden and diversify the membership IMO if we can help make all the members feel welcome, those that do drive off road and those that don't.

Also, Momo when you get a chance it would be great if you can come up with some new sticker designs to incorporate the new name. Thanks.

I'll see what I can come up with when I get a chance. I have been slammed for a while, that's why i haven't hardly been able to post..........I guess I might have picked a bad day to come check in. Hope you guys can work it out.

I'm a relatively new member here, so I don't want to rock the boat, or tread where I'm not welcome.

That said, making the board more inclusive to street users of the 4Runner is a great idea IMHO.

The reason I liked the forum when I first encountered it was that it had a lot of excellent information on our trucks and didn't seem to be restricted to the 'one percenters' who are into heavy off-roading.

Now, I have nothing against off-roading and do it myself (with a much older cheaper truck), but I most certainly am not in the earnings and lifestyle bracket that allows me to subject my new $35k truck to the rigors of off-roading.

So I am all for the board changing a tiny bit to include people like myself as well.

And before I get howls of protests from others, this is not meant to suggest that the board should move away from off-roaders. Quite the contrary.

My reading of GatorGreg's comment is that he wants to make the board *inclusive of* street users and offroaders rather than *exclusive to* offroaders alone.

So for what it's worth - I am for the change. I welcome it.

I actually saw this coming...it's pretty hard to run a forum by two person with different view of where this forum is heading. To think, i actually helped him look for the 4runner he is driving now!

Ingrate. When the deal between my friend's 4runner and him fell through, he all went bitchy on me! He did not even come to my wedding!

I am outta here for now.

I'm surprised there isn't a poll setup on this yet. Maybe someone should, after all if you can poll cheeseIts vs cheeseNips....

I vote for leaving the name as is.

Personally I feel this decision is completely unjustified. Obviously you own the forum and I do not but I think the amount of members already on here contributing to the "street" theme is enough. There seems to be no reason to change domain names that rashly on the advice of one member... As you commented yourself a while ago, the board has a lot of members, what over 10k now? It just seems that this is a bit soon... a poll perhaps?

Not to make threats or anything and obviously you don't care if I leave but if this change really goes through I think I will move on to a forum that better suits my needs that I have been told about recently. I will contiune to ride the t4r.org stickers because of all this site has taught me but myself and I believe many others are heading in a direction you obviously are not.
