airbag working fine no light.. ask me how
very comfortable but the cobra a little hard.. i added some shock absorbers to the floor mounts..
hesitating a bit in getting the passenger seat.. cause the airbag, but i bet i can get a seat in there and get the airbag working.
my wife says the seat is fine but a bit too low..
not sure if ill do the passsenger side yet..

i was gonna get the lemans which looked more stock .. the daytona seat has the wide pointy things that i thought would bother me.. but im glad i got it , they dont bother me at all.. and i like how they feel..

the recaros are more expensive and not really any better except they are a little softer.. more options..


im finally happy and now the truck is really fun to drive

also got new brakes .. drilled and slotted with OEM pads
i think this fixed the left over vibration at 62 miles per hour.. the stock ones were rusty all over.. and which did not let the wheel spacers mount on perfectly flat which i think caused the shaking..
well its gone now.. im just breaking em in easy.. gonna go the the truck races today in pomona

I've been looking into replacing the uncomfortable seat thats killing my back, that looks great!

I have side airbags and a airbag tag on the seat, how do I not break something if I'm going to replace mine? Also what adjustments does the seat have and what subframe did you buy with it?

Not trying to be a smart-azz, but that "Cobra" seat bears a strong likeness to the child safety seat that my son had when he was four years old.


Seriously, I think it does look a bit out of place; but if it makes you happy then enjoy it to the max!

the seat would really hug you especially when taking corners ( i got Bride on my civic, and i love them ) honestly i would not put one in a 4R, as these racing seats compliments a low center of gravity car. and dunlops are ok but i dont know on if they have very good grips in a higher speed turns.
i give that drilled/slotted rotors a perfect 10, very nice.

Where did you get your rotors? Getting some really nice brakes has always been in the back of my mind. Did you change the whole brake assembly, or just the rotors? What brand are they, and if you dont mind me asking, how much total? did you do all four wheels or just the front two?

And this goes to anyone who knows, does replacing the rotors and calipers void warranty?

got the rotors from Irotors.. they are made by brembo blanks..
they are giving me a pulsation right now. but im hoping they will seat in after a few more miles..
i can tell you the front end shaking is gone
and i have wheel spacers on..
ya i just put new rotors and new oem pads and shims..
the rotors were like 200 for all 4

OP- not sure what body build you have, but have you gone for long distance drives yet?

the seats are snug.. im 5.9 and 185 pounds.. my waist is 36
if you are bigger/wider waist, i would definately get a seat in wide version... there are all types..

the seat is not real soft.. they are made to last..
so i added coupe shock absorbers to the mounts and softened it up a bit..
drove to pomona to see the races and i was very comfortable , i havent adjusted the seat since i got it.. which is a good sign..
the trick is to mount it so it is level.. not leaning back or forward..
and you want them up a little high..
the thigh support is way better and the upper backing gives you alot to push against and hold you in...

there are lots of different seats, if you are a big guy get somthing in wide.. i was gonna get the corbeau LG1 wide version but could not find a shop that had one on display .. it would fit in the 4runner. there is still room after my cobra daytona

i was bugged bout the airbag not working but i got it working
still contemplating on doing the passenger side... lots of more sensors there.. i think it can be done though..

so im pleased with the seat, the truck is much more fun to drive now..

I just don't get the racing seat;it's kinda like a Corvette with a winch.

About the rotors,avoid the drilled versions since most of the time within a year or two they will develop cracks;just stick with slotted.

Unique...I'm used to seeing threads with racing seats on Supraforums but wasn't expecting it here haha! Thumbs up for doing something against the grain for what you want.

For those who are wanting more comfort without looking as out of place, you might want to look into getting some Supra seats installed. I haven't looked into it so I have no idea what would be involved or how possible it would be...but I can tell you that my Supra seats provided great support, were VERY comfortable and had great long-distance comfort as well (for example, driving to Vegas from Phoenix for the annual Supras Invade Las Vegas).

You could probably pick up 2 front seats from a 4th gen Supra (93.5 - 98) owner who replaced his with racing seats and have them re-bolstered and re-upholstered for around what you would pay for any pair of good aftermarket racing seats, have the ability to maintain power seating, and not go as "extreme" as many of you seem to not like.

Just an idea...
