Cornfed lift installed with disconnecting X-reas

I went ahead and installed the 3/2 spacer lift and disconnected the X-reas in the process.


The only amt of fluid that was lost were one small drop on the passenger side at most.

at first i thought it was filled with a fluid, however on the x-reas canister said it was filled with a gas. but then once we disconnected the line it was fluid indeed.

It is safe to disconnect the X-reas.

pictures to be posted tomorrow on where to disconnect the line. It was done on a lift with my lexus tech friend and myself.

If you guys still don't feel comfortable disconnecting the lines for service of any sort with the suspension, just simply don't disconnect it.

total time was approx 3hrs including an alignment and shop tools... def could not of done it so quickly with out the use of shop tools and lift.

Waiting to see the pics .....

Also show pics of where to disconnect Xreas lines. I think the front is where the rubber hose meets the steel line by the bracket , I have to look at the back though.
 
How come you need to disconnect the Xres? I was under the impression that it doesn't have to be disconnected.

It doesn't need to be disconnect. I installed my lift without disconnecting the XREAS, however, disconnecting the XREAS system will make the installation easier.
 
here they are:

this is where to diconnect the x-reas line.

looking up from the bottom. use the CV boot as a guide on how to locate the line. you need to use 2 wrenches to securely loosen the 2.

side by side a stockie 4 runner.

i was parked such that i was in a parallel with the other 4 runner by the outside mirror.

i went with typical 265/70 revo... combined with the wheel spacer from a while back makes the rubber flush with the fender.

i get some rubbing in reverse and near full cock, so i guess i should of gotten 285 since i'll be needing a trim anyway...

i might try to use a heat gun and re-mold the spash guard... see if that might work.
 
Is using the spacer what makes it rub ?

I would think with that much of a lift it would not even come close. My 265/70/17 never rub off or on road with my suspension stock.

265/70/R17 that equals to a 32" tire?

So would a 285/70/R17 give a higher stance still?

the spacer moves the wheel out...as it is now, my 265/70 BFG's are close to fender plastic when turned...I'm thinkin even with a 2/1 lift then adding spacers I'll still get rubbing....I guess I can try...lift first though!

My Revos are close too , but honestly never rubbed. The BFG has a much more square shoulder and that night add to it too. If you dont do spacers you should have loads of clearance. The spacers do look good though.

So hold the red and turn the green nut right?

Nope. The opposite. Turn the red. If the bracket is still attached, you don't really need to hold the green either. It's not that tight. I used a large crescent wench. My biggest open ended wrench is a 20mm and this must be 21mm.
