Installed Kenwood DDX-7015 and KDC-C667

Just installed Kenwood DDX-7015 -Double Din touch screen HU-
Awesome!!! DVD/CD/MP3/CD Changer Contol/AM/FM-etc - fit is good - just working on some trim.Grounded the parking brake wire to the chassis so video displays even when the parking brake is off.It includes a "power" out for the antenna amp.
Also installed Kenwood 6 CD Changer KDC-C667 in the armrest - good fit only had to trim an opening at the bottom back of the inside console "bucket"-it is only 1/8" longer than the recommended "toyota" cd changer.
Physical dimensions of the KDC-C667 are 9"3/4 x 2"1/2 x 6"15/16
Physical dimensions for "Toyota" are 9"5/8x 2"3/4x7"1/8
DDX -7015 Ebay - about $1300.00 (crutchfield 1399.99-but not in stock)
KDC -C667 -Discount Jungle - $115.00
Will send pics as soon as I get the trim sorted.

I intalled in SR5 - so I have no Steering wheel audio controls. I did install a Kenwood steering wheel remote that works great though.

Awesome man. I've got the same HU and I notice you have a decent looking trim solution...can you take a closeup shot of the trim? Also, could you explain how you made it?

I've got two other pieces for my HU install that I'll show pics of when complete. The first is an IPOD connector. I got it from www.DensionUSA.com and it works like a champ! I bought the proclip mounting clip and the whole setup is great. It just plugs into the cd changer plug on the back of the 7015. The second install is a universal steering wheel control device. It is called the SWI-X (www.pac-audio.com/products/swi.htm). I haven't installed it yet, but I'll post when I do.

Anyway, hope to hear back from you soon.
 
I know this is an old thread but I'd like to bring it back. I'm looking at putting this HU in my new 4Runner. I have a Limited with the JBL 6-disc, 10 speaker package, I'm told there is an also amplifier behind the glovebox. Is this true?

If I were to install this HU, would it easily connect to all 10 speakers? I'd like to avoid adding in an amp.

My other question about this is - how well does the double din HU fit in place of the JBL 6 disc changer? Will I need to customize some sort of fitting to make it look perfect?

Now Added Kenwood KNA-DV4100

I have now added an AMP (mounted under the passenger seat) and installed a KNA - DV4100 nav unit (fits great in the little sub-glove box) replaced all speakers and added Sirius radio (tuner mouted in Right Rear storage box). Antennas for both Sirius and Nav unit are located at the very rear top of roof. Everthing works and sounds great.

I could not find a trim ring to put the double - din HU in. I made several versions using layers of 1/8" baltic birch plywood - ripped pieces , edge glued and sanded to fit - then painted flat black and mounted with double sided tape. Looks great - even the stereo shop was impressed as they could not come up with anything.

Thanks djy, sounds like a cool mod you made there. Could you possibly show some pictures of that? Would be much appreciated.

Also, would the HU connect to the stock 10 speaker system ok? Any issues with doing that initially?

Kenwood DDX 7015 Trim

Will try to post some pictures this weekend. Only had the std SR5 6 speaker system replaced (extra rear seating positions) so I can not comment on a 10 speaker install.
 
Can you post the dimensions (or provide the make/model) of the amp mounted underneath the passenger seat
