New spacer lift-front end making weird noise

I just installed a Daystar spacer lift to give my (2005) 2wd 4Runner a bit of a lift (the front gained 2 inches).

The GOOD::)
It looks great!

The BAD::(
I have discovered that it seems to make a loud

It shouldn't make any noise at all. Did you check to make sure you tightened everything after the install? Did you check the front sway bar and links?
 
I am going to double check everything tomorrow to make sure that everything is tight.
Is there anything specific that I need to look for on the front sway bar?
 
You should also check the front shock stems to make sure that you got them tight. Sometimes the bushings and washers will seem tight when they are not.
 
I finally found out the problem. The stabalizer link was not tight. (As I found out) in order to tighten the nut you must insert an allen wrench into the end of the bolt in order to hold it while the nut is tightened.

Hmmm.... Did I say to check your sway bar and sway bar links? :bigok:

Not bad, but just a little too high in the front for my taste. I don't think I'd go over 1.5 in the front without also lifting the rear.
 
Nice picture post. Anyone want to do a photo writeup on a spacer lift? It'd be cool if we could have a section for photo writeup's I know I've seen some good ones over the past. For example, The driveshaft lube writeup was nice

this was very helpful to me when I was doing mine. I actually plugged my computer into my inverter and was parked close enough to wifi that I used this when installing my lift.

just skip the parts about xreas, everything else is the same ( i dont have xreas) and it should be all the same no matter what spacer, if you have the cornfed just skip step 16. (I also dont have this extra piece that only the 2.5 inch daystar lifts have either) just look at the parts you need. All spacer lifts are basically the same.

also i did not (and would not recommend as it is a ***** to do) remove the steering links/ tie rod ends (step 7) I would try doing it first without that, and only do it if you absolutely have no room to work without moving them aside.

Not sure if you have seen my spacer lift write up or not. It is detailed, but does not include photos for every single step of the way. I installed the lift myself and it is difficult to stop and take a pic of each and every step while alone. My main concern was not stretching the xreas and abs lines so I was hesitant to stop at certain points to snap a pic. Take a look and let me know what you think.
