265/65R17 vs 255/75R17 vs 265/70R17

Anyone running a 255/75R17 tire size, just curious to see how it works.... if it works at all?

I know about the 265/70R17 size, honestly I am being cheap and noticed that the 255/75R17 are cheaper... and bigger, not wider

I did the calculator on them.... I just wanted to know if anyone is running them. Thanks Have a good Thanksgiving...

PROS:
- Narrower - Better MPG
- A true 32" Tire
- Less $

CONS:
- Narrower - Smaller Footprint

Well obviously they work, but the guy has not responded to your post about his thoughts on the tire. I would like to see a side shot of the truck to see what the clearance looks like from the added tire height. Its only a couple of inches, but that is all I need. (boy, I am sure that last sentence will get some laughs)

Man I really want to get some tires and this size is cheaper than other the other sizes, plus it is a 32 inch tire....

I may just go ahead and buy some and try them out...

OK I just ordered some, and I am going to try them, what the heck, they are less than half an inch difference in width. And they are 32 inch mud terrain BF goodrich tires...

I did not really think about the spare, I have a feeling it will not fit, but I am not really worried about the spare... for now...
 
from the worst place you can order tires.... ebay ......

tires were 495.00 with free shipping....

I am having doubts about the purchase now, but oh well, money is already spent, I might have some rubbing issues too.

just have to wait and see
 
Tires come in on Friday, I will try and do the install this Saturday, but if not this Saturday then next week...
 
OK I got them, a couple of things I did not think about when buying these tires, they were pretty cheap so could they be factory seconds? Are tire companies allowed to sell seconds? If they are not very round then it will be hard to balance them, I guess we will have to wait and see
 
Yes they can sell cosmetic blems . I almost always buy blem's with BFG AT's , save a few bucks and any of the ones I have I could never see the blemish.

So the point of this size was what over a 265/70/17. Not trying to be a smart a$$ , just don't get it .

If you were worried about a true 32" tire well.... the others are pretty close and I don't thing anyone would notice the give or take a 1-3 tenths of an inch.

I personally like the height and width of the 70/17's , perfect fit . Good availability is need one in a hurry .a little pricey but not like they used to be .
 
Well I got them put on this morning at 700am at NTB, they did an OK job, no problems with the tire sensors, the alignment is a little off so I am going to take it back to have it fixed up a little more...

Believe it or not they fit!!!! The guy at the tire place said they would not, there is about an inch of space at full rake both ways, unbelievable.... well I like them, and they do not ride that great on the highway, a little top heavy feeling, but not real loud...

I am not sure why I went with that tire size, just wanted to try them out.... and of course be different.

They are not bad, been driving on them all weekend.


I think Santa might be bringing me a bumper for the front, He is just not sure which company to go with (ARB or Shrockworks)
