Scion Navi and ipod connection.

Just installed this Scion navigation/CD/DVD player into my 2004 4Runner, got an Ipod connection cable off ebay for $70.00 that makes a direct connection allowing you to control the ipod from the headunit and not havinbg to touch the Ipod at all.It also plays DVD movies when you are driving so long as you ground the parking cable wire.

What model is the Navigation unit ?
Where does the cable connect ?

not sure of the model, it is toyota part # 08545-00931.
The cable plugs into what I believe is where the factory sat. radio would plug into.

Awesome, it looks great.

The SNS (Scion Navigation System) is a great upgrade for those without factory navi. SNS is first offered on 2008 Scion models.

Were there additional cables required (aside from the iPOD one) in order for this install or was it a direct plug and play? Can you post additional pictures of the menus/interface when you get a chance, thanks.

It was a direct plug and play, you have to splice into the speed sensor wire,and I grounded the parking brake wire onto one of the mounting bolts so that my 2 year old can watch sponge bob while we drive.. I put the nav antenna under the dash.

What did you pay for the HU? Just curious. I too have a 2004 4runner. My stereo is basic model with CD and tape - is this what you converted from also? In general, will any scion radio work with the base tape/CD 4runner set-up with out any modifications?

I have about $1200 into this setup, and yea any Scion headunit will work. I also switched from the cd/cst combo.

because it looks like if I ground the parking brake I can play dvd's, I cant do that on my stock one
