I never have wheel weights on the outside of the wheels since that messes up symmetry also.

I also go for a bit of overkill when I'm detailing my truck and even use tire dressing on the spare or at least what you can see from the back .:p

I always rotate my tires myself so I can be sure they're torqued properly and I have the opportunity to Simple Green and wax the inside of the wheels. Damn, I need a life!:bash:

I do same thing. I also always make sure my headrests are all the same height and if i roll my front windows down only part way I use a reference point so they are down the same amount.

You couldn't be more correct !! If clear coat is on your wheel and some idiot knocks lead weights on it , thats crappy . ANY aluminum wheel thats been clear coated on my vehicles , I always request the lead stick on type on the inside . I cant believe tire shops still do that to clear coat wheels .

My -isms:

- Wiping down the entire truck every other night with Speed Shine or Crystal Mist
- Cleaning the windows after every outting (I hate having to look at pollen and dust as I drive)
- My gas cap has to be perfectly level so the words can be read from left to right (can somebody say 'You need therapy'?) I even snap the gas cap while turning it to the tune of Darth Vader's imperial march inside my head.
- The front passenger seat needs to be perfectly aligned with the driver's seat before I roll (if I'm the only one inside)
- Tonneau cover is always pulled over cargo area
- All headrests down
- All windows up
- Tires cleaned and white letters cleaned
- Valor exhaust tip buffed to a shine with carbon snot marks wiped off from bottom of exhaust
- Tire pressure check once a week at 34-35 psi and spare at 37 psi
- Wipe down the engine bay once a week
- Fluid check once a week
- Lube the zerks/drive shaft every other month* (edit)

I do all the above plus more multiplied by 2 since I have the other truck to do. I'm also obsessive compulsive and anal about stuff. Sh*t, it takes me ten minutes to leave the house because I check everything before I walk out the door. That's a good idea with syncing the wheel caps. I think I will do that, not now though, I'm feeling a bit lazy. :p I think I will start seeking professional therapy if I start to fold my laundry and underwear with a protractor and compass.

1) Can't stand pollen on the windows
2) Hate it when my girlfriend rolls the window down and it's not even with mine.
3) Wash it every week, sometimes every 5 days, with Mr.Clean Auto Dry to avoid swirls.
4) Wax it once a month.
5) Obsessively wipe off the dash, and anywhere else that accumulates dust/fuzz.
6) Tire dressing 1-2 times a week.
7) Spray it down with detail sprays in between washes, unless it's too dirty (from windy days).
8) Vacuum every nook and cranny every week.
9) Have to wipe down every single door jam after each wash.
10) If my windows have dew on them I will use a squeegee, I hate the lines from the windshield wipers.

There are much more, but my list would go on forever.

I do my back windows the same way too, but I rarely roll them down. I also have to have my cargo cover pulled out, and when I roll down the hatch window I roll it down to the bottom of my "I brake for Saucy Wenches" sticker so it can still be seen LOL

I need help :biggrin2:

Wash 3-4 times / week
everyday if i have time..

All You Can Wash for a month $12.95!

Oh and NO SLAMMING DOORS!

God, I hate you guys that live in the nice climate areas. Every Spring I have to overhaul my truck to make it look good just for it to get all crapped out during the winter. I envy you!

Front seats aligned, if only the passenger side has memory seat--then the task would be super easy.

Damn, my wife thought I was bad. I am not EVEN in the same league as you guys. I need to forward this to her!!

Some serious OCD is going around here on the board!!

1.)My detail would be detailing , I'm anal about how my truck looks , I do get her full of crap , but I always keep it looking mint , I'm an OCD detailer !!

2.)The other thing was that when I bought my new tires , the factory weights were on the outside , removed and left marks , then had the Revos put on and wanted inside balancing , but the info was not relayed to the grease monkey , so I have more weight marks , then I had them reverse the white letters to the inside and finally had them balanced on the inside ....... finally , but not without marking the hell out of the rims..... sucks , looks crappy up close.

3.) Underneath rust , carnage , belly scrapes.

I agree with everything else you guys pointed out plus I hate dirty wheel wells. It just makes the whole car look dirty no matter how shiny it is. I even wax the UCA's and the parts of the frame that show in the rear. I guess that is what you get when you spend your nights and weekends helping your father restore and prep show cars... It is the obscure details that make the biggest difference.

I am in that league in some respects but it does not involve my 4Runner.

I tend to reserve this level of attention to detail for my Antique vehicles.
Sadly my daily driver (VW Golf) and Tow/Winter Beast (4Runner) simply do not get that same level of treatment.
Between family, work, a house and 5 vehicles and a trailer to maintain, prioritizing is a fact of life.
Should be even more fun when I start my next vehicle restoraion project.

My goal in the next few weeks is to get the snow tires off of the 4Runner then give it a good wash & wax when the weather warms up.
The Golf needs new tires and a good wash & wax in addition to a new water pump.
Then it will be time to crawl under the 4Runner and car trailer to deal with any frame rust that needs attention.

Awwww Spring is in the Air! :D
