7-12-08 Hungry Valley Trip

Per Josh220's SoCal Meet or Offroading thread, he and I are planning a trip and trying to get as many SoCal members as possible to come.

The plan is to go to Gorman (Hungry Valley SVRA) this coming Saturday the 12th and do a day of some off roading. There are trails there for just about everyone and it is sure to be a good time both off roading and getting to know your fellow 4Runner drivers! Bring a lunch and lots of water since it will be to be a hot one. Josh and I went last week and really had a good time.

To get there take the 5 North and exit on Smokey Bear Rd, located just north of Pyramid Lake. At the bottom of the exit take a left and we will meet at the far side of the T-intersection and from there take the back entrance into the park.

Plan on being there at 10:30 am!

I might be a maybe

Dont know what kind of trails you guys are planning on doing but I have a completely stock 98. how long you guys plan on staying there?

Just for the day. You are free to stay as long as you want, or leave early if you prefer.

and your 98 would be fine. worst case you can always ride along with someone else for any part you are not comfortable with doing
 
Is anyone leaving from Orange County? I live in Irvine and would caravan if someone is in the area. It's looking good for me to go, but honestly i won't know 100% until the end of the week. It sounds fun, but if things get to crazy I might try to do something a little closer to home.

OK, we will touch base at the end of the week. My daughter and her girlfriend want to go, so carpool works for me.

They are both 16, but I just heard she might need to work Saturday. She's trying to get out of it.

You guy have fun. I wish that I can go. I had a fender bender. I need to wait for insurance to take a look at my 4r before i can take it out.

I would be down for an offroading trip if it were closer to San Diego. Maybe next time. Just hit up corral canyon last weekend and had some fun!

I think we have 4 now (unless T4Rfun has something come up) and also am waiting on ARGO and SoCalKolohe, who showed interest in another thread I mentioned this little day trip in

I am hoping we can get a few more on board
