Crack in dash of 2003.....

My 2003 is pretty much always parked in the garage, but due tto some stuff being moved around I had to park it in the driveway all last week. Friday I went to pull it in and noticed a 4 - 5 inch crack in my dash on the passenger side. What is even more strange is that my windows have been cracked and I had a deflector in the windshield. Has anybody else had their dash crash with no warning?

Do you have pictures Momo?

I'm wondering if the cracks are along the score lines for the passenger side airbag. I think the 4Runner was the first Toyota to use a one piece dash, so it's seamless for the airbag opening.

I had the same thing occur to me last week when my wife and I took my 2005 Sport 4wd V8 to Colorado. I woke up one morning having parked it outside that night with the crack pictured below (that is a dime btw). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think Toyota products are starting to slide in the area of quality particularly in regards to where the interior is concerned

Take it to the dealer?
 
I just got the same thing. My crack is on the drivers side. I keep the windows cracked plus they are tinted. Whats up with that? Would that be under warranty?

I knew this would come up. I think i'm the only one in here with a dash cover to prevent my dash with cracks.
 
I was at the dealer today and mentioned about the number of members that have dash cracks (they know of my involvement on this forum).

They said they haven't seen any cracked dashes, but they passed along some interesting information. Apparently, Toyota has advised that the cleaners or conditioners (products like ArmorAll, for example) that we use on the dash and textured surfaces must not have a petroleum base or it could result in cracks. In fact, the owner's manual has a list of products not to use on the interior (page 302 of my owner's manual) and many have a petroleum base.

They said most new Toyota vehicles have a recommendation to use Lemon Pledge on the textured interior surfaces; they said that the wipes are best because they are easier to use than the spray.

I've always used 303 Aerospace Protectant on mine with good results (and no cracks so far). The label on 303 says it has no silicone or petroleum distillates.

You may want to check the label on whatever you've used to see if it has a petroleum base or petroleum distillates in it.
 
I have an 04 with 80K miles on it, I got it used a little over a year ago and got the Platinum warranty through the dealer here and they said the dash isn't covered, though when I bought the warranty was explained differently... so now what?
 
Cracks in dash 04

Last August we spent two weeks in Colorado, then came back to hot Texas.
A few days later, after a detail car wash (they used Armorall) the dash cracked a few inches on the passenger side. It has become much longer in a "smile" pattern with two offshoots. I took it to the dealer today to see if Toyota will do anything. Doubtful since it's out of warranty.
