Just installed Daystar Lift and love it...

Hello all, I just got rid of my 2007 4Runner Sport since my lease near ending, so I decided to purchase a left over new 2008 Urban Runner in pearl white. I always said, once I get rid of my lease and purchase a vehicle, i would go crazy with the mods, so here I go....

I just had the Daystar 2.5 inch fr/rear leveling kit installed and I absolutely love it. No significant ride changes and this is the way the Runner should have came stock. I do want to replace the tires, but since they only have 1,000 mile on them, I can't justify replacing them so soon. Even though the Runner is lifted, and I have the 18" rims, it doesn't look too odd with the stock size tires on them. I also just installed the Doug Thorley Off-Road Y-pipe and thave the long tube headers sitting in the garage. See my added input in the performance mod section for these results under the Doug Thorley long Tube thread. I am going to attempt to add photos, but don't get mad if it doesnt work. Anyways, thanks everyone for the great ideas that I have seen in the past couple of years.

Here is a picture, hope it works...Also I forgot that I installed Spidertrax 1.5" wheel spacers... Okay, this picture thing is not working, can someone please advise on how to post pictures...thanks.....:bash: :awais:
 

I use photobucket.com. Just upload it onto there and then when you scroll over the picture with your cursor a drop down menu will appear and select "IMG code" and once you click the code it will say "copied." After that come here and hit "ctrl-v" and viola you have a posted picture.

Yes, would also love to see the pics and some more info...old style or new? Before and after measurements?

Regarding the tires, it might be hard to justify but just do it and do it now while you only have 1k miles on it. You can sell the tires on craigslist for some decent cash still and anything decent you choose will provide much greater performance than the factory tires.
 
Keep the updates coming and update pics ASAP!

Waiting on my Daystar kit to come in. Over a week now and think it's supposed to ship 3/3. Already have my BFG A/T 265/70-17's.

How was the Y-Pipe install? Already got my DTLT headers on and love those. Gotta get the rest of my exhaust done and maybe a supercharger????
 
I must be doing something wrong. I set up my images into photo bucket. But when I place the cursor over the image and click img, it doesn't say copy. Therefore I cant ctrl V and place the photos into the post. What am I doing wrong?????
 
when you go over the pic...there will be seperate links on the bottom. You click on them and it'll highlight and say "copied". But I always ctrl V to make sure. Then you just past.

The first picture is with the lift. The second is stock...and the last picture is an angle that shows the lift and the spidertrax wheel spacers. Obviously I figured out how to finally post. Thank you for the tips..... I will get some pictures up with the y-pipe installation.
 
i would ebay or craigs list those stocks and put the caysh towards some meaty rubber. Looks great though already. Lifts are like publicity - any is good.
 
Thanks for the compliments. I have been looking at the BFG A/T 285/65/18. I like the way they look but I do have some concerns though. Maybe you guys could help me out... These tires are a LT tire which means they dont have the speed rating but they have a high load rate which would be good if the runner was a bigger mor heavy duty truck. The other concern is that these tires weigh as much as a smart car. I dont know if I want to start pushing that much weight. I really like the appaearance of these tires as a A/T tire versus the other tires. I do like the look of the M/T tires on all of the different brands but since I am mostly highway driving with the occassional off-road excursion, I dont want to sacrifice the road noise/handling and such... Any advice and answers would help...Thanks....
 
The wheel spacers are for bringing out the rim/tire from within the wheel well. They give the vehicle a broader stance. They are Spidertrax 1.5" spacers and Ipurchased them from Burtman Industries for $198.00 for the set of 4. With the bridgestone tires, I dd not experience any rubbing of any sorts like others have experienced with similiar size tires. The spacers are also a must if you want to eventually get bigger tires, in order to gain the clearance. I like the factory wheels and didnt want to purchase a new set of rims with the same type of off set as the spacers provide. Also it was too hard to find an aftermarket rim with an offset other that stock that was also hub-centric. I did find a set of moto metal rims with the perfect off set but once you altered the factory setting off set, they too don't offer that as a hub-centric design. Eventually, I will be getting bigger tires.
