I have an Opportunity to by these Rims

Hello,
My names Joe and I have been lurking on this site since last year.

I gotta say that there is so much info here its mind boggling...in a good way :p

Here is my question:
I have an 1998 SR5 4runner with a 3 inch lift and 16 inch wheels.
I have an opportunity to buy these rims: 17 inch Tundra wheels and Yokohama Geolander AT/S P265-70-17
I was wondering if I would have to put wheel spaces on my Runner if I buy these wheels. I am not to crazy about the tires and will have to change the out.

I know the info is on this site but like I say there is just so much that it is hard to find. If there is a sticky for this info I would love for some one to point me in the right direction. If any one has these wheels on their Runner already could I see a picture?

There are a few people with those rims, three that I can think off right of the top of my head.

Pnut had a good picture of his old 4runner with them. Trying searching for it.

If 17" tires didn't cost more I would consider picking those up.
 
I have those on my '99 with no lift, no spacers - running 265/70R17 BFGs

The recycle yards in rancho cordova had a ton of them(that is where I bought mine). I wanted larger rims but also wanted stock toyota, decided they looked pimp so that is the direction I went!

I want to thank everyone for all the replies and pictures. Those rigs are AWESOME!

The sad news is, the wheels and tires have been sold. :mad:
But I know what kind of wheels I am putting on my 4runner. I will keep looking.

You know, all of you should be proud of yourself for making TR4.ORG a fantastic site! Like I said, I have been looking around here for about a year and have been amazed on the wealth of knowledge that is here.

I picked up a my 98 4runner at an auto auction, it has a manual 5 speed tranny and I thought that I would/will fix it up. Water pump, timing belt, all gear boxes with new oil, flushed the radiator, fuel filter, had the the whole front end gone through, bushings, Tie rod ends, sway bar bushing kit, both new CV half shafts and added a REVTEK 3 inch lift and shocks, ...did I leave any thing out?...Oh yeah...I had the check engine light come on once and in a while, turned out to be the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), so it was replaced too.

Since I bought it used, I want to know what exactly what my 4Runner needs or does not need and by fixing these items, I have a piece of mind.

What it needs now is new tires and wheels.

These rims are in great shape with the normal wear and tear you would find on used wheels. Center caps included-826-0877

i live a 15 minute drive from all the wreckers in rancho cordova :)

may see if i can get a set now.... but ive heard that these have less of an offset than the stock rims, so they tend to rub on full turns. especially since im stepping up to a 265/75
 
i'm running these wheels with 285/70 tires and I rub on full turns against the frame and when the suspension is fully extended the tire rubs on the upper control arm, just slightly, but when the suspension is compressed, theres easily an inch and a half clearence...I am looking into wheel spacers to make up for the offset


but you really shouldnt have a problem with 265/75's...thats a 31x10.5 correct?
