My baby gurrrrl...
Well...It's official. I have joined the ranks of the 4wd owners. My previous ride ( seen here in this thread) was a 2003 pacific blue limited v8 2wd...
I just got back from the dealer about 2-3 hours ago after negotiating a 2004 Limited v8 4wd white w/ xreas.
Two things. These 4wd models drive much differently and that's a GOOD thing! Very solid on traction. Also...x-reas is simply amazing. hitting bumps and stuff and there's no second bounce. I didn't realize how I was expecting and anticipating the bounce. simply amazing. I'll start this thread here and get some pictures up later this evening or tomorrow...
But first, I'm out to the driveway to remove the running boards...
Yiipeeee!

Wow, your 2003 was a good looking 4Runner. Good luck with your new 2004 4Runner. I wouldn't trade your new 4WD for a "new" more powerful 2005 model, trading a model in every year can get a bit expenseive.

Congrats! A big move up and I'm sure it was costly but a good move. Can't wait to see pix.

I owned my 2003 for a year and a half and was lucky enough to purchase it used back then...so I managed to go through this "move up" and it not be too costly... Don't get me wrong, though...it did cost a bit more, but not too bad.
Anyways...the pics...

hehe...yep, I got a box of cable/etc...it's gonna be a chore, but worth it! I really miss the backup camera and the nav unit though. I keep looking at the radio seeing what route I can take to cut across things, but then I realize I don't have the nav installed yet. hehe. ah well.
Why white? Eh, there were no blue ones around and they were willing to deal quite a bit on this white one. Plus I remember what it's like to have a white vehicle here in texas...MUCH cooler...prolly ~15-20 degrees cooler when it's been sitting in the sun for an afternoon...

Nice truck. I also liked your 2003 a lot too. It is better to have 4WD capabilities though and it is a nice move up. Good luck with it. It may be too soon to tell, but which color do you like better?

Looks good bro. Congrats on the trade-up.
The more I see 4th Gens without the running boards the more I like them. I may have to remove them and see for myself how I like it.
