New rims/tires on my 4th gen

These bad boys are sweet!! I love em' ... They are Platinum 036's (18x9) wrapped with Nitto Terra Grappler 285/60R18's .. the ride is a bit rougher.. i have 42psi in them, but i love the way it handles... and looks.. not to mention, it is an all terrain low profile tire... so i get that bad@$$ look too...

did you put that stripe on or was that a dealer thing? i know theres a stealer here in socal that puts stripes on their cars and then charge extra for it.

Thanks dudes for the comps... yeah, the dealer puts it on.. i looked at 4runners in pensacola, Fl. near the naval base that i am stationed right now, and i looked at the ones in louisiana where i am from and i got a better deal from home... didn't cost extra , but NOTHING is free!

bout the tires and rims... i wanted something unique, i looked serioulsy at getting low profile sport tires just cause of cost.. but after i saw the terra grappler on the hummer 2's, they just looked bad@$$ ... :rocker: it gives it a bit wider stance, it corners a bit better, rides a tad bit rougher though, admittingly, but they are not loud at all... great tread pattern for mud and snow , but since i am moving to pearl harbor hawaii, i wanted it mainly for sandy roads and highway...

www.superbuytires.com is where i looked at a million rims, then i got them from a dealer in town, not online...

What part of Louisiana you from?

I have relatives all over the state, but predominately Cenla.

Are you having any issues with rubbing on the 285/60/18's?

I like the look of your rig with the tires and wheels. Do you have any side or front/back shots of the stance?

Again, you have one of the best looking rigs I have run across. Nice combo of tire size, brawn, and height.

Did you add a spacer lift? You seem to be level and not nose heavy.

thanks for the comps bro.... i'm from lafayette area... when i put the wheels on, the tires rub a tad bit.. i had to remove the mud flap or whatever you call it in the front wheel wells, then i noticed it still rubs (only in reverse) in the front wheel wells.. i guess when i back up, it forces down the truck and it rubs the front portion of the wheel wells... as of right now, it's stock height, but i have ordered the daystar 2 1/2" lift kit for er' and that'll get done this weekend... heres a side shot...

It's probably leveling itself out because of the trailer, gonna look even better with the lift.

yeahhhhhhhhhh , HALF of my lift kit arrived today... so that should only take me a couple hours to put that puppy on... good thing it's the front part.. which i think is the most time consuming... back kit on back order they said back there... hahaha... (i wasn't laughing when i got the front kit only!)

will post pics after lift installed...

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing? Is it somehow part of the Sony Explode?

I am jealous at the rate you are proceeding with you mods. Those rims and tires look great. It is going to take me forever to decide what rims/tires to get now. Everyone on this forum has pretty good taste on them and I have seen a lot recently that I like.

BLUE LED's...

i bought from APC, a package , i think it's called LED anywhere... i took apart the front dash and then unscrewed all the small components to get em' outta the way, drilled the holes for the leds and hotglued them in... the other LED's by the radio shine down on the driver/passenger (those i got from autobac's in japan when i was stationed there)... in japan they have blue LED's for everything... and it's pretty cool... it made it's way to the states cause they have this stuff in advanced auto parts and pepboys... i also have 2 LED's in the drives feet area and passengers feet area and i am working on building a speaker box in the back with 4 Punch 10's , have plexiglass windows with mirrors in it so in the passenger seat you can look behind you and see inside the boxes and there will be blue LED's in the box on the mirror part... also putting LED's in the back seat area near the floor... main thing for me, i dont want to look in the rear view mirror and have any distractions , such as neon lights or whatever that block my view... with the LED's they just light up enough and not too bright... here's a pic

I haven't seen a t-4r with rims and tire that looks better than yours. TR4 doesn't look go in low profile tire. I like the zise of the tire but if you are planning to lift it you might need bigger tire..

thnks for the comp bro... i am putting on a daystar 2.5" lift today... so i'll see how they look... the tires are like 31.6" tall.. so i HOPE it looks good still... i'll post pics when i am done with the lift...
