whoa, thanks for the heads-up. I spent nearly $80 for all 4 of mine. Maybe I should pick up some more for replacements.

I haven't read up on the different bulb options. Eventually, I would probably get to it, but I never can pass up a sale, so I'm askin' now. Are these the way to go? Or at least on a price comparison basis the best?

Edit: Sounds like from this thread, that is currently discussing these in parallel, they are a pretty good option.

Is this the info I need to get them at Pep Boys: "H4 Type bulb, 12v 60/55W" or should I just tell them my vehicle and have them find them? And is it the same for all six bulbs?

Do they work in the tails? Is there any real reason to do that? Just a little brighter I guess.

For the money you can't go wrong. I noticed a whiter light as soon as I changed the bulb on the low beam.

People have commented that they may have less life span than the OEM, but I have to disagree. I leave my head lights on because I don't have DRL and I've been running the silverstars on low beams since January.

I have the Silverstars in my 4Runner and my Maxima. I like them a lot. I've heard that they don't last as long as other lights on the market, but I haven't had any problems with them. For this price, I don't think you can really beat them. Others may disagree. If they were $40 or $50 per pair...then maybe. For the 4Runner, the low beams and fog lights are 9006 and the high beams are 9005.

Thanks for everyone's help. Should I get the straight up 9005 and 9006 or any of the ones with additional letters after them, shown in my previous post?

Edit: I just noticed that one of the options is the silverstar, duh! And that is in the title of this thread. So I guess the answer is 9005ST & 9006ST

Yes...the ST designates the Silverstars.

I saw those, may have to pick some up myself. My last Xenons I got for my Dodge were from ebay. The headlights have lasted a year but I've gone through 2 sets in the fogs so far. The cost after shipping was about what PB is selling these for.. Good deal!

I had a question about these Silverstar's twin packs for the price of $19.99. Is the price of $19.99 for the silverstar light for the 4Runner's with daytime running light or what and also r they for the 4th Gen. models? I have a 3rd 2000 4Runner SR5 Sport and read about the good deal on the silverstar's and went today for my lunch hour to get some for me but they were $39.99 for the twin pack for my model and year but the thing is that they r both low and high beam bulbs... they did come with a five doller rebate. So my question is, is the 39.99 the right price for my model and year with low and high beam bulbs?

The price of $19.99 is a typo. The store I visited had a correction notice on the door, it should be $39.99. Sorry to kill the buzz, but I don't think any of us will be getting the wicked deal we thought.

2000 4Runner headlights are 9003...dual filament for high and low beams. The ad says $19.99 for the twin pack (2 bulbs per pack). The cashier at Pep Boys up here in NJ didn't believe it either and asked the store manager. The store manager said it was right and that all twin packs/all sizes were $19.99. Check www.pepboys.com and click on in-store specials. That should allow you to browse the store circular. The lights are on page 11. Hope that helps...maybe the special is only in NJ?

Damit, I went on my lunch hour and had the exact same shiz happen. The manager was a bit rude about it too, like I was nuts or something. I wish I was armed with the ad. I bought them just in case I was missing something. Errrr. Not mad at you though, sounds like you were just lucky. I may go in armed with the ad and complain. Any chance you can scan your receipt so that I can be armed with that too. I checked mine and the credit card is blocked out except for the last 4 digits. If you care, you could just put a little piece of paper over it before scanning or photographing, but I guess that is obvious.

I was stowked to take a 75 min lunch and get a car wash, gas, pizza/soda, and these lights were last. Kinda a buzz kill. Maybe it will work out in the end. Thanks.

Luxury...Sorry, I don't have a scanner or a dig. camera. When I bought mine, they rang up as $49.99, but they did a price adjustment afterwards. Try printing the ad off the website and see if that works. Even with the ad, they may not honor it if it was a type-o. Good luck.

The add I printed said $25 reg price - $5 mail-in rebate = $19.99 pack.

I guess it is different for each zip code. Mine had the same thing but for the price I previously quoted of $25-5=20

Sounds like half price is still a pretty good deal, so I went for it.

Bam! Here's your proof. They tried not to do it by pulling out the add and saying it wasn't in it and all this BS about it being a national ad. I threw in their face the print-outs I had that had their address on it and explained that is why they have me put in my zip. Then I proceeded to show them the print out that I did that was supposed to be some sort of instore shopping list. They were still steadfast until I asked to see the add in the girls hand and she repeated "It's not in there". So I checked and sure enough there it was. Here's a scan of the receipt to prove it (I blacked out the location to protect them from corporate a little bit, since in the end, they agreed to it all):

about a year ago, they had a similar sale.

So I go in to get some, and they are out of the high beams twin pack. So I ask if they are getting anymore. They say yes in about a week. So I come back a week later, and still nothing. So I ask again, this time they say "don't know if we'll get any"

So I ask, can I buy 2 single packs and get the deal? Since I'm still buying 2 bulbs? Their answer is No, you can't do that. I ask why, they say its a manufacture sale, and we can't do that. Even though their ad says pepboys coupon, nothing about a mail-in or anything.

So I ask if I can get a raincheck, told No again. So bascially, they have an ad for a product they don't even carry.

So I stopped shopping there all together. I even filed a complaint on their website, 2 times about it. Not once did I even get a responce back.

So it doesn't surprise me to see they have an ad with a typo in it. They just wanted to get you in the store.
