If I recall correctly, Old Man Emu has stuck height suspension kits for our T4Rs. You may want to do a search on them...
I have not bought from any of these sources, so I am not endorsing any but:

I also found recently a spring kit made by H&R specifically for this issue, price is $199 for 2nd gen.

I own a '94 SR5 V6 and had the same problem. There is a company approx 30 miles away called Explorer Pro-Comp who have a 2" lift set for the 2nd gen. The springs are approx £80 (pair) and the ES 9000 shocks are £35 each, boots are £10 (pair).
I lifted mine as I have put LPG tanks underneath and have added a swing out spare carrier on the rear. The lift makes a hell of a difference but the flip side is that it rides a lot harsher than before but it looks a darn sight better.
I don't think it would be cheaper for you to import them to the US as the $ is pretty poor at the moment. but I could find out if you wanted.

Downey HD coils would be what seems to be the popular choice among 2nd gen owners. Thats what I'm gonna do.

My '94 is sagging as well.
I want to bring it back to stock height (I assume they aren't low in the rear when they are new?) These kits: eibach, downey, H&R, old man emu... are all 1-2 inch lifts right? Isn't there going to be a big wheel gap and a forward tilt to the body if you go 1-2 inches over stock?
I'd like to hear from someone who has done the rear lift with no front lift as to how that works. Is there a kit that will just bring it back to stock height but with higher-quality-than-stock parts?
Or should I perhaps just buy new stock srpings?

my wife drives a 95....I put the 1" springs in the back with nothing else from www.PerformanceProducts.com about 2 years ago.
There was a drastic handling diff. and it is a bit higher in the rear now..
It handles wierd, not sure how to explain..front end dives into corners and feels very unstable when swerving. I know I need to put new shocks in, since the stockers are still on.
But, I am debating on going with a complete front rear setup for her runner..

Joshua: patznet.com looks to be some German guy's personal website. Is that spelling correct? Can you give some more info about what type they are, what else you bought with them, how high they go, how they handle, etc.?
Razor: I looked at those ones. I like the sound of only lifting 1 inch, but they are pretty costly compared to the Eibachs ($136 and free shipping). The owner of the shop I go to said new shocks were necessary (maybe cause of the coil length difference) brake line modification was necessary, ans wheel allignment was strongly recommended. Did you do that stuff, too? I'm starting to think that spending around $350 to fix a problem that is 3/4 cosmetic is a little pricey but I want to exhaust the possibilities first.

Joshua: OK, I figured it out: PARTZNET.COM. I was wondering why the German guy with his family pics at patznet.com was selling auto parts.
So, you replaced the stock springs with new stock springs... how did it turn out? Does the rear look like it's the proper height now or is it still sagging a bit? How does it ride? Did you replace the shocks or get a wheel allignment at the same time?

sorry about the spelling error. The back end now sits at the same height as the front end, it doesnt sag anymore. As far as the right the back has more cushion now, because the coils take a lot more. I didnt replace the shocks because it has brand new Rancho 9000s on it. You cannot align the rear end of the four runner, because it is a solid rear axle. If you want anymore info just ask, i dont mind all the questions.

i was at the auto parts store the other day and i saw what i can explain as "coil spring spacers". they're small pieces that you install by jacking the frame (to release tension) and inserting them between the coils. two for each side. there's also a twist-on version, but that doesnt seem too keen for me.
anybody know what i'm talking about or have any experience/knowledge about them? they run under $10/pair (one wheel).

yeah coil spacers, just little rubber things that you put in between the coils on your spring. you can buy them at any local parts store. You can actually buy them in 2.5 inches, and that would put a significant lift on the back of the 4 runner (it will level the car out). I know a lot of people that put these in to raise their car or truck back up instead of replacing the spring.

I have seen springs after running those things for a few years. Whats the old adage? "Pay now or pay more later"? Yeah. Good way to toast your springs.
As for safety, they have to be ok or they would not be marketable (we would like to hope), but they are still not good for your springd or your ride quality. You would be much better off just getting the springs. For the cost, why mess with it? Yes, spacers are dirt cheap, but springs are not that much, and you have to do nearly the same amount of work to put either in.
I cataloge cheap spacers (not to be confused with high-quality alloy spacers engineered to work safely like you find in certain lift kits) in the same vein as torching coil springs. Not cool and potentially dangerous. (Ya wanna spaer your springs with bits of cast iron and rubber, then go catch a killer jump in the dunes, just to have them fall out? Seen it!)
Just my 5 cents worth. (as someone else said...inflation.)

BTW, I just installed the clear bumper and corner lights like yours, I love the look. Do you know of clear/red taillights to replace the yellow/red ones that come stock?

no, i dont know of any altezza lights available. i've seen some people have them, but as i hear, most are custom made. i find it hard to believe that theyre not available for our second gen's, but i still havent been able to find any for sale. i'd have them if i did.
