Rockford Fosgate 6x9 Component Speakers

Has anyone installed these speakers on the front doors?

It's the ONLY 6x9 component system that, according to Crutchfield, fits the 4th gen 4Runner.

I'm planning to use use the stock Toyota (non-JBL) radio.

It's so expensive, though, ($250) that I'm considering purchasing an entry-level set of 6x9 Pioneer Speakers, and purchasing separately $50 Pioneer Tweeters.

Opinions?

if you're using the stock radio......you won't me supplying them with much power to make a difference, so it'd be a waste of money. you'll need a head unit and an amp to make it worth while IMO.
 
Offroader - For a cheap alternative to a new headunit, think about getting the Scion headunits out of the Xa/Xb models. They are a direct replacement to the 4Runner radio (stock non jbl), provide more power to the speakers (cleaner sound basically) and also capable of playing MP3s (Wish I had that ability in the JBL system)

Also, can you post pics of your 3.0 turbo diesel engine? Just curious to see (sorry for highjacking your thread, feel free to make another with the engine pics)

I posted the pics under a new thread. Hope you saw them.
I took those with my phone camera, and I plan to take more detailed pictures with my digital camera.
