Another Tire Question: 275/65R17

Hey, it's another Noob with a tire question!

Does anyone have pictures of a 4th Gen wearing 275/65R17's? I've researched and it looks like this will fit without rubbing or trimming, but I didn't find anyone who actually confirmed this or posted pics.

I like the look of a tire that has a wider stance--out to the fender edge or just beyond and I'd like to use the stock 17" rims. I'm trying to get a look similar to BURNIN M's set up (width-wise), but using the stock rims. (xpdnrunner and navyaircrew look good too, but I didn't think I could follow their leads without trimming, rubbing or lift).

As a fallback, I could go with the tried and true 265/70R17 and get some rims with less of an offset to push them out a little (and use the stock rims for some Nokians next winter). If anyone is running 265's on rims with less offset than the stock 30mm, I'd love to know your thoughts on the the right amount of offset to push the 265's out to the edge of the wheel well.

They'll fit...

Not sure what exact tire brand you're looking at but that size will work. I'm not sure how to link to them but I have previous pics of my LT275/70R16 BFG A/Tko's. Same tread width and, if anything, these are bigger in diameter than say the 275/65R17 in a Michelin CT. Nicely fill the wheel wells without a lift. No rubbing either. Beefier stance. That's why I went this size. They don't go "out to the edge of the fender or beyond" but I don't think you can do that anyway without trimming. Watch out if you use a different offset wheel because you will screw up your front steering geometry and possibly toast your bearings & ball joints.

Thanks, I'll check out your pics. I hear you on the concern with changing the offset (and backspacing). Just seemed like some of the pictures of aftermarket wheels I've seen here had different backspacing than stock.
 
I am running 275s with 4.5" of lift ... when I first got them, even with just 4" of lift I had to cut a lot out of the front fender.

If you have no lift at all, then yes, expect to do some cutting.

Can you clarify what size of 275 (ie. what aspect ratio and rim diameter?) Are they on stock offset wheels? Pics?
The reason I ask is because the 275/70/16 (that fits without cutting using stock wheels) is actually a larger overall design diameter and section width than a 275/65/17 that blacklab is looking at.
 
I must've misread the original size in question. I was thinking of the 275/70/17 or 275/75/16 ... sorry!
 
digging an old thread back from the grave...

to make sure that the 275/65-17 tire will fit on the stock se wheels with no lift? what did you end up doing?
