Wheeling around Chattanooga?
Anyone know of any good wheeling spots in or not far from Chattanooga, TN. Wanting to find somewhere to take day trips and do field tests on mods. Not looking to go too crazy just want some fun trails. Thanks

A friend suggested Coppinger Cove just north of Jasper. We may be heading there on Saturday, January 5.

Awesome, keep me updated. You just planning for a day trip? Would love to get some people together in the Tennessee area. If its cool with you I would love and try and plan to come along. Looks like our trucks have a pretty similar setup, or I'm guessing those trails aren't too crazy.

Most likely will be a day trip. We're thinking either Coppinger Cove or Windrock at Coal Creek. I'll keep you posted.

East TN wheeling
Whenever I had my 1st gen (more modified than my 3rd currently is), I went to windrock a lot. Not a long drive at all, and can easily be a day or overnight trip. The Cove like mentioned above is a fun place to wheel if you know where to go. I've wheeled on the lease and on the Cove side and enjoyed it. There is Big Fork and Prentice Cooper on top of Signal Mountain. Prentice has some light trails and a "stair case" that I've played around on the 3rd gen once (looking to go back soon).
For shake-down type runs like you're talking about, I would suggest Prentice. It was good enough for me to see where I rubbed with the new 255s, what clearance issues I had, etc.
BTW, pm me your number and I'll give you a call next time I go either this weekend or next.

88Cleve4Runner, let us know when you wanna go ride. If schedules can work out, I'm always looking to go. Sure ugamurph would like to come out too.

We hit several of the gravel trails, and trails 20, 4, 5 and 2. Hope to plan a more adventurous run for the next trip.

Definitely. We'll have to get together and head back up there after it drys out some. Between me, you,
@ derdog34
,
@ Fjatheart
, and another couple of guys who have contacted me about going, we could have a decent crew to ride.

Sounds good to me. I'm going to be out of town for the next 2 weeks (work). But once I get back I plan on atleast hitting Prentice Cooper in Chattanooga but if there's a group interested in going to Windrock I'll for sure go.
