I like that way of thinking. Although I have to say that i have never had a single issue with the crimp, solder, seal butt connectors from waytek.... they have solder inside the butt connectors and is made from a heat shrink material. So u crimp then heat and it solders and seals all at the same time.

Those are the only butt connectors I would ever use, but the old fashioned way is always great too
