Now it gets interesting...
Don't go trolling craigslist for wrecked 4wd 4Runners if you aren't prepared to drive 200 miles to Bakersfield at 3am to pick up a rolled 4Runner with no engine, for $300!:
Notice the Chevy 6-lug wheel on the back corner. It doesn't even fit over the hub center bore. Yee haw. At least that hackery was done after the truck was wrecked, as far as I could tell.
Time to start the disassembly. It was obviously left outside with a busted windshield and sunroof:
That was completely disassembled, blasted to bare metal and painted... You'll see pictures of that later as it goes back into my truck.
The last few moments of the parts truck were probably exciting and mud-filled:
We took a good guess as to how much metal we would need to cut out of the parts truck to make sure we aligned the holes on mine:
And there it sat after a short day of disassembly after a LONG morning of picking it up:
