Any ground will work. Check the schematic and pictures on the previous page. I didn't hook mine up at IC4 instead opting to insert it directly under the relays in the relay box. I soldered a piece of wire to each side of the diode and then jammed the other end of each wire directly into the relay spade terminals. Once the relays are reinstalled, it's secured.

The diode cathode goes to the load side of the circuit. The anode is connected to ground.

As shown in the schematic and pictures on the previous page, the diode cathode
