Boeshield is a good idea. It is very long lasting on bikes. It's available in aerosol cans. It's expensive, but if it lasts longer than Fluid Film it would be worth it.

Has anyone used Cosmoline? That black/ green stuff they coat all kinds of metal parts with? It's sticky, smelly, and impossible to clean off, which sounds perfect for the frame of a truck.
