They aren't really a "hassle". As far as I know the price difference is negligible as well. If your old stuff is failing and you have to get new stuff anyways, you may as well get "better" new stuff. I just installed my stuff last weekend so I can't speak to the longevity, but the braking performance increase is definitely noticeable. If you decide to do this swap, make sure to sure 4th gen rear rotors. 5th gen rear rotors caused a slew of issues during my install.
