More likely scenario is the dealership just put the plastic pieces on that cover up the mounting holes without screwing in the bolts.I can see those covers coming off in a car wash.Those covers don't seem too watertite anyway,surprised you haven't had any water leaking in from the rain.
If water started leaking in,have them inspect EVERYTHING for water damage.

I don't see how avoiding the car wash should be the answer. The OP should be able to take their car to the carwash if they want to. The dealer obviously *ucked up the roof rack delete. They either didn't install the bolts like they said or failed to use silicone sealant. Dealer needs to own up to the mistake and fix it correctly and make sure there isn't any other electrical damage, mold or mildew.
